I enjoy the ability to help others, to gain knowledge form the elderly. I became a caregiver a few years after my grandmother was put in a nursing home. I saw the love and compassion she received and this inspired me to want to help the elderly and disabled. I got my CNA when I was 18 and my EMT when I was 20. I am proud to say I have helped an number of sweet people and they in turn have taught me so much. As a mother of two children, I want to show them that loving, caring and respect of all ages, ethnicity will make this world a better place.

Since I was a young girl, I have always taken great interest in caring for others. I usually am able to tell what someone I'm caring for needs before they even know they need it. I take great pride in being able to make someone laugh or smile as I am a big kid at heart.. You're only as old as you feel.. I came from a family where we all worked into the medical field caring and always helping others. A few years ago my father became ill and was diagnose with stomach cancer along with having dementia. I realized being a care giver and caring for others it took a special person to do this and I realized that I had to find someone just like me to help with caring for my father until his passing. I'm a single mother of three wonderful children my youngest was born on life support and was epileptic which led me to become a caregiver. From the age of 13 I had cared for a close family member which was epileptic and was on disability I had moved in with her in high school to be her caregiver at that point in time I knew that I cared for others more than most as my friends were out going to the movies and going skating I chose to spend my time at home caring for another human being. As long as I can remember I have always taken care of someone and started out in the mental health dealing with individuals with special needs and being able to care for someone else that is unable to care for themselves touches my heart I'm truly lead to be in this field.

I've been fortunate enough to have two wonderful grandmothers in my life who I have been extremely close to. They each have had their own health issues that I have been able to help them with, and it has taught me so much about the elderly and their daily living issues that they struggle with. I've just always had a compassion for the elderly. I so enjoy sitting and listening and talking with them because I've learned how much wisdom they each have! I've always felt a connection with these women. It just happens to be something I love!!!
