I worked with the Visiting Angels Caregiver & Home health group out of Knoxville, Tn for about 2 years as a caregiver. I also helped to care for my mother, father, a sister, a brother, an aunt, an uncle, my husband, and my son. I am retired, but I still enjoy working part time as a caregiver. I can help care for your loved ones, when you need to be engaged elsewhere. Or when you just need an occasional break.... And we all need that occasional break sometimes.

I love to help and that's why I am so great at caregiving for others. A good caregiver comes with heart for free. I love to help families and or independent people be comfortable, safe and happy at home. Unfortunately I am not rich so I need to earn a wade but my heart is 100 percent free. I love entering a home helping and moving on to the next. I just love all of the tricks inside secrets of families, maybe its a magical recipe or neat way to clean with vinegar. Maybe even just going to play bingo somewhere and or hanging out at home. I am personally proud of all of my education and being able to share it with the people who hire me. I have 3 years cna experience. I have reliable transportation. Also 12 years of caregiving experience. I am dependable as well as honest.

I have been in the nursing field since I was 16 in one form or another. I always knew I wanted to be a nurse because I always enjoyed helping people and I love to talk, I never meet a stranger no matter where I go , I went to RN school in Indiana and worked on the medical surgical floor and worked in surgery for a few years. I was pretty blessed and was able to stay home with my children as they grew up, so I took time off from my career was a stay at home mother but always knew I would get involved in nursing again .As my children grew up I got involved in homecare which I love, I have met such wonderful families and clients along my journey and wouldn't trade my experience for anything.

I have been a C.N.A. since 1981 when I was 19 years old. I have always had a "soft spot" for the elderly/sick. I have worked in all areas of healthcare over the years, hospitals, home health, nursing facilities, geri/psych unit, hospice, private duty. I now own my own business, Quality Home Care, a non-medical home care. This is my calling and I am honored to help others in need.

My current job does not say much about who I am as a person or a caregiver. Before starting in factory work I worked in a nursing home for 4 years. After the nursing home I worked in assisted living for a year. I gave my heart to those jobs. I loved ever minute of being with the elderly. I started by waking them up and taking them to the toilet. Then I would help them get dressed or dress the ones who were unable. I would then assist with normal morning hygiene care. I would take them to dine with others in the dinning hall and then I would feed the ones who could not go. I would do daily excersizes with the residents and give baths when it came time. After breakfast some would take naps, watch tv or do other things. After my rounds of helping to use the bathroom I would visit with some that I didn't get to spend so much time with because of our morning rush to eat. So many of those people whom I took care of couldn't remember some of their own family, but they knew when they seen me coming everyday and they were so happy at times. At the end of the day helping others comes naturally. My gratitude I get from being a caregiver is just making someone smile. If I can make them smile then I must be doing something well.

I have held many positions in the health field. My reasons for remaining in health care are many but the most prominent is the self gratification of helping others.

Having been a director at an assisted living, I have dealt with every situation that you can imagine. I have done everything from transport residents to and from Dr.'s appointments, make Dr.'s appointments, personal hygiene and bathing, dressing, etc. I remain calm in all situations as to keep things from becoming more intense than they already are. I am very good at listening and getting to know the whole person. I have work with designing activities that relate to their spiritual, social, cognitive, emotional, and physical beings. These are all things that make a healthy body and a healthy mind. I also have experience dealing with people that range from minimal assist to full assist. I have worked with Alzheimers and Dementia folks as well. So as you can see, I have the ability to deal with any situation that I am put into. I am college educated, punctual, and above all very passionate. When working with others I give 150% of my heart and dedication to them. I always and will always treat them with the same respect, dignity, and love that I would my own family. I am first aid and CPR certified, so you can be rest assured that if any situation arises, I have been trained on how to handle it. I look forward to speaking with you and meeting your loved one. You will feel completely comfortable with your loved one being in my care. There will never be any worry about their well being.

Patient care is my upmost goal. I am friendly, dependable, and thorough to each individuals need. Excellent communication skills. Cleanliness and prompt care for the patients needs. Being a caregiver has always been a passion of mine and I am currently in school for my RN license. I really enjoy interacting with my patients and their families. A support system is critical in sustaining a loved ones quality of life.

Caregiving is a very fulfilling job for me because I feel good about myself at the end of each day! Being able to help others to achieve a more quality life gives me pleasure. I have been in the medical field since 1977- when I completed two years of RN training. I have worked as a medical biller, medical assistant, and in home private duty health care provider.
