I have been a C.N.A. since 1981 when I was 19 years old. I have always had a "soft spot" for the elderly/sick. I have worked in all areas of healthcare over the years, hospitals, home health, nursing facilities, geri/psych unit, hospice, private duty. Hi, I am a Caregiver with 10 years of experience. My first job after high school in 2010 was taking care of the elderly . I instantly fell in love with my job and decided that is where my heart was. I continued to further my education and wanted to grow in the field.

I have held many positions in the health field. My reasons for remaining in health care are many but the most prominent is the self gratification of helping others.

I became a caregiver because I enjoy helping those who are in need of help to meet their daily needs.What I like about being a caregiver is known that I am there not only to help with their daily needs but to also listen to them when all they need is someone to talk to. A personal achievement I am proud of is having the hands on experience working with the Dementia residents. It is a experience all of its own and one of the jobs that I really enjoyed the most. A little about myself. I grew up in Northern NY and now have moved to the Harriman TN area. Although a lot of people don't like change I really enjoy it. I really enjoy learning new things. I have worked in healthcare on and off for over 20 years. I had a few other jobs in the past outside of working in healthcare but I enjoy working with people who are in need. I like hands on training the most when it comes to jobs. I feel that its the best experience that I have had in the past when it comes to being out in the work place.

I have been a CNA for 21 years and I love what I do. I am a wife to a Disable Veteran and have two grown children and one school age child. I have experience with geriatrics, pediatrics, MED/SURG, Telemetry, ICU and INU. I have work in hospitals, doctor offices, nursing homes, home health and even hospice through out my career.

My father passed away when I was a young girl. He was in the hospital for weeks before he passed due to surgery after surgery with cancer. I remember my father being saturated with body fluids and not being groomed. As a young girl I decided that I would become a CNA. Being a CNA lets me have the opportunity to give back to my community. Every person regardless of age, color, size or religion is a living being. I treat every person how I would want my family treated. I enjoy being a CNA because I'm able to make a difference in someones life daily.
