I feel what makes me a great caregiver is I have been on the other side of the caregiver/patient bond. I took care of my Father for 2 years before he passed away and I feel that everyone should be treated with that respect and dignity they deserve. I love being a caregiver because I want to make a difference in someone's life and this is one of the best ways to do so.

Hello I have been a CNA for over 10 years. I've worked from Texas to Colorado during covid. Recently I had my first child who is 11 months already so I am finally going to settle down in one spot. I've lived in Corsicana for 17 years so this is home. I followed in my sister's footsteps who was a CNA first and in my opinion the best if I can be half as good as she was. I like the one on one time with my patients versus the nursing home environment which is fast paced very little time with each patient. I've worked in nursing homes for all 17 years either with an agency or the facility it's self. I've worked as a sitter for different families as well during my time.

The process of knowing how often a caregiver is needed, exactly what can be expected of a caregiver, how to solve problems that may arise, and how to assess if the client and caregiver are a good fit, can be overwhelming. I can help with any or all of your concerns. I come to every job, caregiving or managing, with documents that I customize to assist myself and the client. I bring forms to list medications and when they are given, medical conditions, a form to record vitals, blood glucose, food and fluid intake or output, etc and a schedule to list and organize household duties. I also bring a journal in which I record each day. I am passionate about the work that I do. I am outgoing and pleasant by nature, and very organized. I am familiar with a good deal of the medical conditions that come with age. I am also familiar with the many medications that treat these conditions. I believe that my knowledge makes me a better, more understanding, and compassionate caregiver. I believe that aging at home is an excellent alternative to care in a facility. A great caregiver can make that possible. I know that to be a great caregiver I have to be caring, compassionate, intuitive, and motivated to ease the burdens of physical and mental decline. I have to adjust my behavior to suit the personality and preferences of the person in my care. I also have to be accountable, as my care can make the difference between a client suffering quietly or happily thriving. I continually strive for excellence in the hope that my care will make a difference.

What makes me a great caregiver is being able to meet my client’s needs. I became a caregiver approximately 13 years ago. I love being a caregiver because what someone else can’t do for themselves I can do for them from within my heart. And being able to have strength and knowledge to bless others in need of care. I am proud of the Christian woman God has called me to be.

I like being a caregiver because I love helping and am on my way to be a nurse (b.s.n) I would like to have more experience in general dealing with elders since am doing a healthy profession to honor my late grandparents.
