15 years ago I was in desperate need of a caregiver for my mother. It was very difficult to find an honest, caring, trustworthy person to care for her. I went through several different caregivers, including a family friend that didn't work out for the job. I ended up quitting my job and caring for her till she died 9 years later. At this point in my life I want to be able to help someone that needs special care because I know the negative impact it can take on the entire family when the care of a loved one is not being met. I think the sick and elderly are at our mercy to care for them.

My mother in law was in a accident paralyzed when I was 17 I took care of her and ever since I just loved to see the smiles on families faces with the sense of relief knowing their loved one(s) are in great hands. I am a great team member and natural leader. Me along with many others would say I am a hard worker and take my work serious. I love working with people creating a bond and friendship with someone I am caring for. What attracted me to being a caregiver was working for the first time in a Nursing facility as a support member. I was looking for a job and was interested in the medical field so I took my first job in that field starting at the facility. I was only allowed to help feed and talk to the patients but I realized I loved helping and wanted to be able to do as much as I can to help them so that encouraged me to get further qualified and become a CNA. I became a caregiver because it is my gift. My professional career began 20 years ago in the healthcare industry. When I was 19 my husband suffered a massive stroke.
