I began my journey 8 years ago when I became a certified nursing assistant. I have worked in long term care facilities, skilled nursing facilities, memory care facilities, hospice, and the hospital. I did not know what I was getting myself into in the beginning but somehow I felt that helping others was meant for me. Being a caregiver is who I am. I enjoy people and connecting with them even when it is a challenge to do so. Every person is unique and has different needs. I always do my best to make them feel comfortable while finding joy in the day. I am currently in my second year of nursing school with a graduation year of 2024. I have 3 children plus 3 step children age in range of 10-17. I have a four legged, super furry son name Kai. I work on the weekends on the med/surg unit at the hospital. Now that school is starting up I have time available to do what I love and that is helping others live a better life.

Hello! I will begin with i have no professional training but have been providing home health care for my family since 1980. I also worked with my expertise in upper management, accounting, human resources and payroll and benefits coordinator. My last job was with CPI i was with them 17 years. Ive been happly married for 31 years and we have raised two beautiful daughters. Starting with my grand parents in 1980 I cared for my grandmother whom had diabetes, dementia, and heart disease and arthritis, her dementia was especially bad until she passed. I also cared for my great aunt Jessie for 2 years she was my grandmothers sister and had the same issues. I then cared for my in-laws mainly my father in law. He had sciatic nerve problems, arthritis, obesity, arthritis, and kidney failure. My mother in law, arthritis and dementia. Then my father he had cancer and I was with him till he passed we were at his home with hospice care. That was also when I quit working for CPI and have not worked professionally since. I then commuted to Arlington Texas and took care of my aunt and uncle until last year when they both passed lung cancer, copd, arthritis, dementia, hospital delirium, dialysis twice a week for my uncle, skin cancer, arthritis, lower back problems, hearing issues. Ive also cared for a paraplegic ive done colostomy bags, and catheters. I also did drainage of pluerisy off my aunts lungs to relieve pressure twice a day. Ive used all types of oxygen equipment, and lifts for heavier folks. Im a great listener, great cleaner, very gentle handlier, and very compassionate and have great empathy for the elderly along with i truly enjoy listening to them share their memories.

I have always enjoyed taking care of others. It's where my heart is. It started when I was a little girl going to my great grandparents assisted living home. My grandmother lived with us for quite a while when I was growing up and as a young adult.
