I have been involved in healthcare since the age of 15 , starting as a "candy striper" volunteer and worked in many areas of the hospital until of age to work in Emergency Medicine. I have been an active EMT/ Paramedic with both volunteer and career departments and taken part in evaluating home safety checks for residents. I was mainly attracted to become a care giver when i saw the need from seniors in South Africa who lived on their own and have to go on their own to the super market to buy food in dangerous areas where they can be mugged and have their money taken from them. I enjoy socializing with the seniors, listening to their past experiences and also learning from their sickness or illness be it diabetics or any other disease, i love learning more on how best they love to be treated. I cared for my late mother in-law who had diabetics and i enjoyed every minute of helping her to manage her sugar levels and monitoring and record keeping of all the readings. I am proud of the fact that i had this quality time to be a care giver in my home to my mother as well as to my mother in-law. I have also cared for Senator Jack Edward Jones in Harare Zimbabwe at the age of 18, i had the love to care for seniors. He had been mugged and tripped on his hip bone and underwent surgery, upon discharge from the hospital, i personally managed the care at home until he could get out of bed. I did bed baths and i loved it because i knew he cant do it for himself, then who else if i was present in the home, it had to be me.

I've been in healthcare for the last 11 years. I've worked in home care hospitals Dr offices and group homes. I have a huge heart very reliable. I love being able to be someone's helping hand when they cannot help themselves. I'm a nationally certified caregiver. I have a variety of skills.

I became a licensed CNA in 1992 intending to further my education to RN while working as a CNA. Once I began working in geriatrics I absolutely loved it and decided to remain a CNA so my job would always be very hands on. I have worked in both nursing home and home health settings and while I enjoyed the teamwork and high energy required in the nursing home I also very much enjoy the relationship that grows between the caregiver and the client in a one on one setting. I truly feel that the better you know the patient the better you are able to provide the care and companionship they need.
