I am very passionate about the work that I do. I believe that each care plan should be individualized; and each person's needs should be evaluated and assessed on a regular basis. I enjoy the creativity that is involved with being a Caregiver, and I equally enjoy the amazing persons with whom I come into contact. In terms of my personal achievements, the one that I am the most proud of is my success and graduation from two Universities. I have a degree in both Nutrition Science and in Nursing. Similarly, I am certified in Basic Life Support, and I have an active license to practice as a Registered Nurse. In my spare time, I enjoy gardening and watching sports. My schedule is very flexible, and I work dutifully to meet the clients needs.

I became a caregiver 9 yrs, ago. it all began when my aunt was admitted in to a nursing home facility. my grandmother would go visit her on a daily and every day after school I would go with her and every day my aunt would be in the same situation. soiled, left in bed for hours. with bed sores all over her from not being reposition. So from tht day forward I had vow that I would become a nurse or a caregiver. I vowed that I would do my best to make sure tht every patient that I came in contact with will have the best care tht I could provide. it brings me joy that I can help them physical or emotionally. I look at each and everyone of them as my own family. I believe with tht brings out the best in all of us to want to do our best. my best achievement is not of any awards but the reward of being there to my best for my patients to put a smile on there face and for them to feel of importance and to let them knw their voices matters.

Helping the disabled or the elderly is a passion of mine. I never thought that I could put a smile on someone's face until I became a caregiver. The reason I became a caregiver in 2009, I was sitting with a retired judge who made me take the caregiving route. I love listening to the stories they have to tell from back in the day. Being able to make them smile or even help them folding their laundry and seeing how much they appreciate what I do.

Skills & Certifications: Vision and Eye Disorders, Stroke, Home Health Aide (HHA), Skin Disorders, Respiratory Disorders, Renal and Urological Disorders, Post Surgery Recovery, Parkinson's Disease, Palliative Care, Orthopedic Care, Neurological Disorders, Multiple Sclerosis, Hospice Care, Home Health Care, Hearing Disorders, Gastrointestinal Disorders, Diabetes, Depression, ALS, Dementia, COPD, Cardiovascular Disorders, Cancer Recovery, Blood Disorders, Arthritis, Alzheimer's Disease

I became a caregiver because I have assisted in taking care of some of my elderly family members (one with dementia) and I enjoyed making their last few months as comfortable as possible. I like being a caregiver because I love making people smile, and I love helping them get through all the little things that they can not do as well on their own. I currently work at an assisted living facility as a DCA, I am also in the process of getting my Med Tech license (should have it by May2015).
