Greetings! I fell in love with caregiving while attending travel school, and working for an elderly man in his home. My passion for caregiving comes from growing up in a large family and always having people around me of all ages. I adored my grandparents, and had the pleasure of caring for all of my older siblings children before having 2 of my own. When I lost my grandparents, I decided that I wanted to spend my time around seniors, helping them to remain in their homes as long as possible. It has been a 35 year career for me, and I enjoy it more every day! The personalities of my clients are so varied and so valuable, and the knowledge and humor I have witnessed has been truly priceless. I hope I can somehow give back as much as I have been given.

I am dedicated to providing excellent care to my clients, I feel it shows when I come in to see my clients are excited to see me, I love to bring a smile to my client's because I feel sometimes that's all it takes to change a outlook on a situation is a smile and a caregiver who really cares as I do . Hello, I'm Kathryn but you can call me Katie! I enjoy assisting residents with having the best quality of life possible and if we laugh and have a good time to then we are both winning in life! I have been a caregiver for 16+years. I started caring for children in my neighborhood when I was 12 years old and knew then that I would grow up caring for others. During high school I was in a volunteer program for elderly companionship and truely enjoyed spending time with the people I've met. I love listening to stories, reading books, playing favorite games, and bringing laughs to their bedside tables. If I help a laugh or smile I feel like I'm doing my job right. I know pretty much all the tricks of the trade when it comes to just about anything that comes up in a situation for a person once I've gotten to know them and their daily routine. I focus on client based care, and meeting the clients needs and comfort is priority and I do as best possible with what tools I have to work with.

I truly use my whole heart into my work. I am a very compassionate and gentle caregiver and treat my seniors like they are my own grandparents. I started working as a CNA because it seemed like an amazing opportunity to get my foot in the right path for nursing and I fell in love with caring for others. I worked with a private company as a summer job and helped two residents get ready for the set and set them up for breakfast, and I would spend my weekends helping with housekeeping and meal prepping. I then worked at a Memory Care for about nine months. It was the most hardest but also the most rewarding job I have ever had. The connections and relationships I made with the residents that had dementia and alzheimers will always stick with me. As an employer there we did a lot of compassionate care, help with toileting and mobility, assist in feeding and bedtime care. I am currently working at a hospital and have been there for about a year now and I am really enjoying it, but I am missing the connections that I had with my seniors. Working at a hospital is meeting someone for 12 hours and providing care then the next day I have a completely different group. I definitely have grown in my career emotionally and mentally from this job. *I am currently in the process of moving states, so I am just looking around and seeing what new opportunities I have*

I chose to become a CNA and caregiver due to my extreme passion for caring for others. I am very patient, caring, friendly, and easy to get along with. I enjoy the satisfaction it gives me to see the smile on a clients face when they are finally able to take those first few steps I have been encouragingly help coach to after a rough knee surgery. Or when my client walks out into the once filthy and trashed kitchen only to see it sparkling clean while they inhale the scent of fresh lemons and a pleased smile cross their face. Those moments make all those days of 16hour shifts and nonstop madness when everyone on your floor is sick at the same time, worth every last tear, complaint, and restless minute. My compasion for others helps me shine as a caring, reliable, selfstarting, long time caregiver and companion.
