I became a caregiver because one day as I was walking in Manhattan, I saw an elderly man was crossing the road, he needed help crossing because the traffic was too much for him to cross by himself so I took the opportunity in helping him to cross the road, it was then that I realized, I can take up this as a professional and that is when I became a HHA/caregiver. In 2008 .Being a caregiver is about having patience , something you can do for someone who is in need of assistance, its a blessing when caring for elderly. I provide all ADL, including light house keeping, reminds of meds, cooking arrands ,doctors appointments. etc. I like to play games. I've been in home care for 14+ years. I worked for Hospice for 6 years, Parkinsons, TBI, stroke, and developmental disabilities patients and etc. I love what I do because I treat all my clients like if they were my family and also the way I would like to be treated. What attract me to Homecare was when I was in high school I used to work in the nursing home. And I am proud of making my patient happy seeing a smile on a face.
