I am a caregiver I have been taking care of the elderly for 6 in a half years. I love it I have a passion for it. And nothing is more rewarding then the one you take care smile at you. And they become my extended family I live it.

I love to sit and watch TV, read, take the clients out to church if they are church goers, in the park and other recreation the wants to go to if they are capable. I've worked in a private and professional settings caring for clients/patients with dementia, heart disease, Parkinson, pulmonary disease, stroke and more. I've assisted with basic companionship to total care which includes activities of daily living "ADL's" bathing, dressing, shaving, feeding, errands, meal prep, medication management etc. I love and enjoy my profession working with my clients. Most of all I enjoy the history lessons, music and classic movies. By the end of my shift, I aim to ensure that my clients are happier, healthier, safe and comfortable.

Being a caregiver it creates a beautiful and unique bond. I'm proud of being in the medical field for 5 and continuing years as a medical assistant and caregiver.

I am a very caring, kind, intelligent, respectful, and responsible. As for what attracted me to be a care giver is I see so many articles and shows on tv showing all of these residents being abused and it broke my heart and I wanted to make a difference so I decided to go to a technical high school were I got my CNA as well as all of my other certifications. What I enjoy most about being a care giver is the smiles I get when I do even the littlest thing s for my residents I am not saying it is always easy or picture perfect but I think of my residents as family members and treat them exactly how I would treat my own family member because you always have to think they did not ask to be in there situation and that is what I always refer back to. One of my personal achievements that I am proud of is I went to a technical high school and got all of my certifications there and now am currently attending a university to further my education while working per diem. As well as currently looking for a full time job so I can continue helping people while also saving money for college.

I've been a caregiver for 7 years what attracted me to being caregiving was taking care of my late mom who suffered from cancer, that another reason why any client I take care of I treat them with compassion, I'm thoughtful, patient, considerate and professional being an aide is very rewarding helping someone who is in need, my personal achievement I would saying getting any project I'm working on successfully well done, what I enjoy the most about being a caregiver helping alderly people like I would with my own parents, Last but not least I'm easy going, like to get things done, hard working and respectful.
