What makes me a great caregiver is I live very people and working in health care and doing what I love. What attracted me to be a caregiver is helping others in need itsy Passion I as a caregiver enjoy my job the most us the people I work with and there families. My achievement is getting my hha,my phlebotomy and continuing my medical assistant and going forward for my RN.

I started out at 15 years of age. Needed a good job. I soon knew that this was something special. Not just a job but that these were people who had families of their own. Who have worked so hard all their lives to take care of others and have been through so much more then my generation. If not for what they lived through, we would not have what we have or be where we are today. I'm very proud to say that when I lay down at night that I have given back and am helping people who really need it. I have learned that we are all the same and families need help with the ones they love and have taken take of them. I am 46 years of age and have 3 children, all grown. I have been married for 26 years to a wonderful man.

My recent work includes private concierge caregiver/for a patient in rehab and a Young boy with autism, a Pastor, Physician Assistant, his wife an RN at NFRMC, DR John Beckam, a retired Colonel/Doctor and his wife, as well as his Stepfather who was a cancer patient, Mrs Hindery, wife of the Late Sherriff Lu Hindery, Sherriff of Alachua County who served 43 years in local law enforcement, caregiver for a NFRMC Anesthesiologist, 2 UF Doctors, 2 UF Veterinarians, a VA Scientist, several UF Professors. UF Shands IT analyst and 2 VA professionals. I've spent 30+ years in various nursing fields in facilities and private care working extensively with Geriatric Patients having conditions such as Alzheimer's, Oncology/Hematology, Neuro Injuries/TBI/Rehab Services. I've worked cases of NICU babies, Infants with premature birth, failure to thrive and with children on the autism spectrum with sensory/food aversions as well as cerebral palsy and triplets with continuous tube feeds and Oxygen. I was employed as Assistant Health and Safety Director for the American Red Cross assisting in Teaching CPR, First aid and Disaster Preparedness as well as supervising Challenge Testing for Health Care Professional, Paramedics, Nurses and Physicians. I have also worked as Activities Director for the Salvation Army's after school and summer youth programs for children at high risk/abuse and as Activities Supervisor for the Henderson Housing Authority working with the elderly. I have a current multi state background check as well as a driving record.

I am a kind spirited, patient, encouraging, and reliable person. I have always been interested in senior and disability care because there is a huge need for it and I believe that I am the right type of person to meet that need. Being a caregiver gives me such a purposeful feeling knowing I can come along side someone and aid them with the things they cannot do themselves. I worked as a CNA in a nursing facility for almost 2 years with long term and short term residents. I have worked with many types of patients with many different needs from dementia patients to quadriplegic patients. I have also volunteered at disability camps over the past couple of years.

As a staff nurse, I cared for mostly senior clients at a VA Medical Center for two years in Acute Care, Geriatric Rehabilitation, Nursing Home, and Palliative Care settings. I also have experience in long-term Acute Care and Hospice Care. I recently completed a two-year nursing and care-giving assignment for an elderly gentleman who had chronic and progressive neurological disease, diabetes, renal failure, cardiac issues, hemodialysis, and home peritoneal dialysis. I was with him nights, Monday through Friday, from 10 p.m. to 10 a.m. My care-giving responsibilities included personal care, toileting, bathing, dressing, transfers, assisting with ambulation, driving to medical appointments and social activities, medication management and administration, meal preparation, eating and drinking assistance. I worked with a team of female caregivers in the household, providing comprehensive and personalized 24-hour care. The other caregivers are also currently available for work as a team providing superior care around the clock, or as otherwise needed. I naturally enjoy fostering caring and the therapeutic relationships. This is something I do naturally, something I have done all my life, something essential to who I am. My happiness comes through helping others be happy. I consider it a great privilege and sacred duty to be able to help people through some of the most difficult times of their lives. I became a care giver,because I love helping people,care giving gives me the chance to help the families out with problems,care when they are short with help,and I can help them in other ways too.Helping people feel like people,and care for them,better than a nursing home can do,and save them money too. I'm 59 yrs old,5'7,divorced,own my own property my 80 yr dad lives with me,he is now better,that I changed his doctor,She had him on medicines that were making his heart slow down,and swelling of his legs,and weeping,due to on warfin too long.Now that he is off,he is much better. I am looking for light housekeeping and companion work only no heavy lifting at all looking to stay in the Hudson Route 52 New Port Richey area I won't go to Holiday and I'm going to go to Spring Hill just the local areas and if it's local it's like $10 an hour instead of 15 I have my own vehicle background check went through okay I don't drink smoke or do drugs and I drive I also do pet sitting for seniors

I am attentive and responds to situations in a timely manner. A patient, especially the elderly, needs constant care and attention. It's my job, therefore, to be attuned to those needs even if the patient doesn't or is unable to communicate them. I have a passion to help others. I come from a family of healthcare professionals. It put a smile on my face to know I am a big help to others and i also enjoy my patients company and time.

I became a Respiratory therapist when my mom was diagnosed with COPD. I am blessed that I love what I do and changing patient's lives. I do not give up where others have and been part of miraculous results. One example is a MSD patient, long-term ventilator dependent of Assist Control being off vent during the day and out of bed. The medical director said it was impossible but earned trust for all future recommendations. I have improved compliance from 45% to 95 % with therapy. My friendly outgoing personality puts patients at ease which is vital in successful outcomes. I am passionate, determined, creative, loyal, reliable, positive and get along with all ages and from all backgrounds. I have treated patients with respect, empathy and honesty as I would expect for myself.
