What makes me a great care giver is that, I have the ability to listen to my client concerns and find ways to assist them. I am a great listener, an advocator and I get alone with people very well. I like treating my clients as people not object. Their happiness comes first. I became a caregiver because i feel like it is my calling. My passion for this field is something extraordinary. I grew up seeing so many family members suffered traumatically. Many of them faced a lot of psychological issues. I felt like it was my responsibility to go out there and learn the tools so I can direct them to a better path. What I like about being a caregiver is to see my clients smile alone with any other person I come across. I love making a difference into their lives. I love building rappor with them do they can trust me. A personal achievement I am proud of is having my daughter.

I have experience working mostly with elderly. Most of my experience is with Alzheimer's or Dementia patients. I'm very understanding. I'm very patient. And I always look out for the clients best interests.

I like the idea of giving back, helping those who can't take care of them selves anymore. I still find myself learning from patients. I've spent most of my life in the building field, home remodeling. I've enjoyed my change of career.

My Mom was diagnosed with Vascular Dementia in 2009. I became her Plenary Guardian and caregiver until she left us in 2014. Since then, my mission and vision was to open a company to take care of Seniors and help their caregivers with respite so they can live their lives where they are most comfortable. Thus, Friends of Virginia was created. My long term goal is to open several gated tiny home communities throughout Maine for people with dementia. I am not only available to the Seniors but to their families as well so they can get a break and let their Seniors age in their current homes as long as possible.

I have many skills in different fields from the elderly to disabled adults and children. I have worked over 18 years in the health field as a cna. I just received certificate in behavioral management n working with kids and adults with autismn n autismn spectrum. I have worked with physciatric patients for 5+ years. I have ran my own home health agency for 6 years.

I'ma caregiver . It's what I feel I was meant to be. I was the caregiver to my mother who has had medical issues sense I was in high school . Which I maintained a job , going to school and being the caregiver of my mother and the household for years. After years of working dead-end jobs I finally realized my passion to be a caregiver. My life experiences had motivated me to be a mindful person to others and considerate. This is the first time I've felt proud to tell people what I do for a living. My goal is to do in home care or overnight hospice/palliative care. I've been told by many that it's a horrible and depressing job to but I find it to be the biggest honor to be the support system and caregiver to someone during one of life's most personal moments .which is passing on. The way I entered this field was just being a housekeeper on the floor of a senior living facility when I was promoted to a overnight caregiver . My superior was impressed by my ability to go above and beyond my tasks when requested or needed such as assisting staff moving a resident into their room and being alongside maintenance to take care of a massive flood in the basement of the facility . One of the biggest moments for example there was a day when a resident had gone outside on a cold winter day and slipped On ice resulting in a fall. A hospice nurse luckily found the resident and helped them of the ground and to their feet . I had witnessed the situation and was proactive rushing outside to guide the resident back inside .Holding their hand and retrieved staff to evaluate the resident immediately. All in all I'm a reliable and dedicated person in all aspects of my life. At home and at work.

i've been in the medical field since 1999 fresh out of high school. my grandparents both had come down with alzheimers' and i cared for my grandfather till the day he died 8 yrs ago and now i help with my grandmother i love my job and i know i do make a difference in their time of need . I have 5 children so i do show patience, empathy, compassion, and most of all love for what i do.
