I am a mother of 4. I am a very caring and honest person who love working with people.

I took care of both of my parents. I love being around their wisdom. They think i'm funny and fun to be with. I would rather be around older people. Aways have since I was little. Guess it started in childhood since that's what we had living around us in our neighborhood.! And feel very blessed that its a calling too. I love talking and most of all listening to my clients. I'm very patient and dependable with a Big Heart.!

I think the traits that make me a good candidate for caregiver are that I am empathetic to the client's situation, understanding that I am their to assist the client' in achieving their goals, and I'm an active listener and truly try to get a view of the entire situation going on. I have worked with many different populations with stronger emphases in mental health, developmental disabilities, and addiction and recovery. I have worked with clientele as young as 18 and as old as 90, so I am rather comfortable working with any age group.

My personality traits are patience and understanding. I have 10 years of experience. My grandmother made me to want to be a cna. I love taking care of others. I look forward to graduating from college.

I am a certified nursing assistant in Missouri and in Kansas With my Medication Aide License, and my Cpr and First aid certificate. I became a caregiver for many reasons 1 from coming from a famity full of nurses and 2 I love helping people and being there for people and giving the best care To them. I was a caregiver to a quadriplegic professor when I was in college to help pay for my tuition. After college, I continued doing private care on the side for some Alzheimer patients at a nursing home. In 2004, I enrolled at a nursing school for a year and a half. I did not finish my degree, but I did receive my certification as a CNA and as a Medication Technician. I keep up to date with the newest discoveries and findings in the world of medicine. Even though I have not had any new medical training, I am current on my knowledge of diseases, medications and side effects of such medications. For instance, I am aware that when you care for an Alzheimer's patient, you step into his/her world, and not insist that he/she conforms to your expectations of what is real. I am compassionate and capable. All of the kids are either all grown or almost grown, but I still have this vast need to nurture. My husband refuses to be smothered, so, I need to go out of the house and find someone else who would appreciate being cared for :-) My kids are my biggest accomplishment. The eldest is going to medical school this summer, and the middle one is attending UMKC in August. The youngest one is doing great as a Sophomore while giving out just enough sass to maintain her teenage status.

I am a 41 year old female. I have 4 children. My youngest was born in 2002 and was my inspiration for becoming a caregiver. He was born with a couple of syndromes and lots of medical challenges. This I became very good at taking care of him. Was a natural caretaker when I was growing up as I was told from family members and friends. This situation made me want to become a professional caregiver and has allowed me to be able to see some of the most common medical equipment and machinery that is used these days. It has tought me a lot.

Growing up I have always been very interested in helping people for their daily living. I am kind, gentle, and very compassionate person. What attracted me to being a caregiver was generally to help people and advocate for people. What enjoy most about being a caregiver is to be able help people in their sickness and you see how their health improves. One of my personal achievements is to be able to graduate from school, proud of that.
