If a client has faith in me they will exercise and eat and walk more readily. I am certified CMA (I am able to pass medications legally) and up to date on my CPR and First Aid Certifications. I have been a substitute teacher for over 10 years, and have taught young children- some with special needs. In 2014, my now 94 year old mother came to live with my husband and me. She has developed dementia, and the amount of care she is needing has significantly increased. I feel that my experience working with children has made this transition a little easier for me.

I became a caregiver to my sister in Los Angeles, CA, who had cancer in 2015. After she passed away, I knew that this was my calling. I was told by the staff at Cedar Saini that they appreciated my help while I was there looking after my sister. The staff acknowledged my patience and compassion towards other patients also. I earned my CNA and worked in a nursing home as well as providing in home care for others who were like my sister. My life changed, as I knew there was no better way for me to contribute to others by helping them daily. I enjoyed their company and looked forward to making a difference!
