I first knew I wanted to be a caregiver when I was 15 years old. I started taking care of my great-grandmother in her home and absolutely loved every aspect of it, so I made it my career. It gives me so much joy to know that everyday I am making a difference in peoples lives by just being there to make life easier, providing the quality empathetic care they deserve and just being that someone they can count on daily. I am a mother of many children but only 5 biological children. Two of my children are grown and on their own, two are in college and I have a 13 year old. I have worked in education for 16 years total. I moved to Greenville from Kingstree, Sc. in 2014. In 2018 I was hospitalized for a month due to lung failure and again in August of 2018 for 3 weeks. At that time my dreams were shattered because I became disabled and was no longer able to do what I loved. In 2019 because I was disabled and unable to work I was offered a position to help me make a little income because disability money was hardly enough to support 2 children in college. I started doing private duty for the president of Greenville Tech Charter School. Again I was doing something I loved (helping others). In 2020 my client passed and I am looking now to assist someone else who maybe in need. I do have bad days with my lungs but my good days out weigh the bad. I am loving, honest and dependable. Because of the mark I leave on the people who's lives I enter into references are not a problem to get. I look for private duty only because I am on disability.
