I have over 10 years experience with caregiving, dementia. After my grandparents passed away I knew I wanted to help others that need assistance caring for their self's. I enjoy assisting with anything anyone may ask as long as I make them happy I am even happier. I am CPR certified.

What makes me a great caregiver is I am loving, passionate and have compassion for people and their needs. I became a caregiver because I was given the opportunity to take care of my grandmother. She was my world and when she was diagnosed with liver cancer, I found my perfect world falling apart. I took care of my grandmother up until the end, and I found it very rewarding. Loving her in such a way has given me a special love for people. I love people, I love being of service to others, and do whatever I can to assist. What I like about being a caregiver is being able to give back and be of service to those who need assistance. I love being a caregiver because I meet all kinds of people from all walks of life. I am able to be in their presence and hear the wisdom that is shared. I am proud of finally achieving my bachelor degree after raising two children as a single parent. I love cooking and love helping the elderly in need.. I have been in health care since I was 21 . My biggest achievement would be I have been working at the nursing home now for 30 years. I love being a caregiver. It has brought a new definition to my life giving me a purpose I felt I was missing. I became an EMT this past year to further my medical education and learn more about caring for others. I became a caregiver as a child growing into adulthood. I always cared for the grandparents within family and friends as well as children for family and friends. I opened my home to assist and old friends mother who needed a place to stay after her stroke while her daughter remodeled her home to be wheel chair accessible. After that I took in a child I was caring for who had down syndrome while her grandmother relocated to Oklahoma and got established in which she then came back and picked her up to take her out there with her.
