Actually, I am a Registered Nurse. Characteristics: dependable, honest, independent, optimistic, hard-working, encouraging, a problem solver, a good listener and communicator. I became interested in health care when I was 10 years old and in the hospital over Christmas having had an emergency appendectomy. My mom worked for a doctor (earning $1 an hour) and was always telling us about interesting cases and teaching us strange sounding medical terminology. Most of my nursing career was in a Medical Intensive Care Unit at Ohio State University Medical Center. After that exciting career, I started working in Home Health in 2008. I enjoy working 1 on 1 with my clients, offering encouragement, seeing that they are receiving proper care, and hearing their life stories.

I am going on my third year of college, and my third college as well. I am finishing up my surgical nursing degree at Marion Technical College with a Surgical Technician certification and a phlebotomy certification as well. I have spent time in caring for my grandmother while she was in and out of the hospital, and I will provide compassionate care to those who need. My job as a future nurse is to provide comfort and love to patients varying different health conditions. My ideal job profession in the future is to work in hospice as well. When I was younger, I had a heart disease and my life-long goal is to give back to nurses and patients with 110% passionate and sympathetic care.

For me, being a caregiver isn't just a career. It's my calling in life. I feel as though it's what I was put here to do. My very first job at age 18 was as a caregiver for a lady with MS. I cared for her as a live in for nearly three years with one day off weekly. I then moved to direct care for disabled individuals and have accumulated several years experience. I am certified in first aid/ CPR, medication administration, insulin trained, and have a wide path of experience to fall back on. I was also caregiver for my mother for five years until she passed from ALZ. I am currently attending college studying Human and Social Services to better provide for those I work with and for. I believe that being a caregiver requires a special individual, just as special as those I care for. I have always felt that the individuals I have met and worked with have each been a blessing in their own way and I am the lucky one for having them in my heart and life. I view my clients as family, nothing less. I am dedicated, sincere, patient, full of good humor, not easily upset, and my greatest joy is making others happy. That's the biggest benefit of all. Being a caregiver has been very rewarding in knowing I am able to make others feel good in their daily lives with assistance of daily living. They feel secure which makes me feel good and proud to assist. I have alot of compassion and heart for anyone.

I am very outgoing but can also be a great listener. I like to care for others and aspire to one day become a Physicians Assistant.

When I was a stay at home mom, my mother became seriously ill, it was then when I decided to become a Certified Nurse's Aide. My husband and I moved in with my parents so I could give around the clock care for my mother until she passed in '07. I then worked in a Hospital for only a few months and decided that kind of enviornment just wasn't for me. Since then I have been working in Nurseing Homes and love the feeling of family and friends, there is a feeling of closeness, respect, and love I develope for my patient/resident that I personally cherish, and helping others in a loveing and careing way.

Ever since I was a child I always loved helping people. I have always dreamed did being a nurse and now I am working toward making that dream come true. My experience as an STNA has been by far the most touching to heart job I have ever been apart of. My passion for the elderly is overwhelming and I can ensure that I will try my best help your loved one feel the most comfortable possible and will always take good care of my residents. I've been a state tested nurse aide for 25 yrs. I love being able to help others, I have lots of experience. When I was young my grandmother use to take me to work with her she was also a stna and she always told me to treat them no different then I would her and grandpa. I'm very compassionate and love being an stna! I've worked in the nursing home setting for yrs. I'm currently working for Hospice and to me it's an amazing honor to be able to take care of others loved ones.
