I have always been a caregiver, taking care of my grandparents, my aunt before she was transferred to a nursing facility. My aunt had numerous health issues. I also took care of my husband, he had two major surgeries last year, he had to learn to walk again. During the process of caring for my husband, I realized that I enjoy helping people and I resigned from law enforcement and I am currently working as a caregiver part-time for Comfort Keepers of Florence SC since November of last year. I'm proud to say that I took good care of my husband and he is getting stronger every day, caregiving gives me the opportunity to give back to our seniors, I enjoy putting a smile on their faces. I love helping others. I'm very attentive to their needs and I have great patience. I know that one day I will get older and need help so I've decided to dedicate my time to the elderly while I still have time to do so. What I love most about being a caregiver is the fact that I'm able go gain knowledge through my client's and help them with their daily living activities. Often times my client's are able to confide in me because they have no one else. One personal achievement that I'm proud of is going back to school to further my knowledge in the health field.
