Hello, I have been a Certified Nursing Assistant for 20 years. I've always had a passion for caring for those who may be in need of healthcare services and assistance with maintaining dignity and as much as independence as possible. I am CPR certified, up to date on all vaccinations including COVID. I have experience with several areas of healthcare ranging from acute hospital, nursing home, hospice, disabilities and special needs, and home health. I enjoy being able to make someone's day better by providing a comforting ear, hand, smile, or personal care whenever needed. Hello my name is latoria I'm a certified nursing assistant I've been in the field for 3 to 4years and I love it I became a caregiver when my grandmother was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2009 I took care of her until she passed in 2011 every since then i enjoy taking care of peopler just being there for them whenever they need someone to talk to. I became a caregiver back in 2007 when I was a CNA. My certification has expired because two years I forgot to pay the recertification. People make the world go around is a true statement. We all need each other in so many different areas of our lives to attain our dreams, goals, and/or destiny. In my household we were taught the art of body massage to increase, stimulate and evenly distribute the circulation in the body. This promotes not only relaxation but strength and tone to the muscles. It also promotes healing. My cultural household also equipped me with skills of honor like patience, gentleness, thoughtfulness, kindness, and empathy. I became a Caregiver because it was already naturally instilled in me by my parents and because my mother became ill and incapacitated and I needed to care for her. There were many things I already knew but there was much more to learn so I decided to go to school to learn greater skills, time management, techniques of bending, turning a patient, bathing, tube feeding, CPR, and wound care. Proud I am of successfully completing my studies with an A. I also possess a degree in Human Services with Public Relations and Supervisory Management. My personality is calm, nurturing, flexible, patient, and I love to learn new things. I have written two books about fruits, veggies and delicious healthy meals and would love to be a Spokes Person/Motivational Speaker. Hello, my name is De'Shayna, I go by shayna for short. I attended The Academy for Technology and Academics where I studied health science and received my CNA license in 2015. I have since worked full time in a nursing home for two years and hospital for two years. In my free time i took up some home health jobs and did some hospice work as well. I love what I do, because not only am I there to care for someone I'm there to give them companionship. Someone to talk to. Someone to look forward to. Nothing warms my heart more than seeing my residents facing when I walk into the door.

I became a caregiver, because i wanted to help people recover from illnesses. My papa got sick and i didn't know how to make him feel better, so i decided to go to school and learn how to take care of people and it just became my passion after that.
