I am a loving, compassionate caregiver, who believes in providing the highest degree of quality care and service to patients in their homes, assisted living, memory care, Hospice or other types of facilities; and am seeking the opportunity to give back to our elderly, the respect and caring they deserve. The thing I enjoy most about caring for others is the blessing I receive from the patients. I think the Lord has called me to this type of work so that He, in working through me, shares the comfort, peace and love, that only He can give. I have discovered in working with the terminally ill or those in Hospice, that they end of blessing me far more as I learn about their background, family, spiritual beliefs -- they become my family. One of my most precious moments, was being with a sweet lady who was at the end of life. As the CD's played soft music of old hymns and after praying and reading scripture to her for several days; I experienced her smile and hand on my cheek, just before the angels escorted her from this world into Glory.

I love to talk to people and learn things about who they are as a person and hear their stories and i love taking care and helping in anyway that i am needed..I'm a great care giver been a single mom to 3 kids and 1 whom has Autism Disability..Im a nurturing, caring, big heart, I love working with the elderly..I always wanted to be a Nurse since I was 5 yrs old and due to life obstacles was unable to fulfill my dream of being a Nurse and now I am living my dream through my daughter whom is now a Nurse..My personal achievement would be raising my 3 beautiful wonderful kids whom i am so very proud of whom my daughter Morgan is a LVN and works for Scott and White and my son whom is an Entrepreneur and owns his own business my 16 yr old baby boy whom still lives at home with me whom has Autism who one day plans to go to college at Texas A&M University so he can be a Veterinarian..All un all I just love helping people cause i do care

I think I'm a great caregiver because I genuinely care about others. I treat people the way I want myself or my family members treated. I have enjoyed a 32 year career as a Respiratory Therapist primarily with children in a hospital setting, but being a caregiver doesn't have age restrictions! I am now an active empty nester and am looking to continue caring for others outside of the hospital setting in a little more flexible way. :)

Im a very caring and empathic person who loves to take care of others. I've been in this line of work for 10 plus years. Im CPR certified. Im skilled in colostomy care as well as catheter care. I love learning new things and meeting new people. No challenge is to big to work through. I love to keep a poative mindset. I am a mother of 2 toddlers and I feel that the elderly need just as much help, love, and care as a toddler. I can dress, change, cook, clean, bathe. I know how to tell whether the water in bathtub is too hot or too cold for someone.(check with either wrist or elbow) I know how to give insulin to diabetic patients.(My grandmother was insulin dependent and she taught me to shake up insulin, draw it up in the syringe, and to give the shot in the belly, or back underside of the arm.) I know how to deal with patients who have incontinence.(I have incontinence due to an overactive bladder, my mom had incontinence, my grandmother had incontinence.) I know how to deal with cancer patients. (My mother had breast cancer, and died of uterine cancer and was on hospice. My grandmother had breast cancer, colon cancer that metastasized to the lungs and died of brain cancer) My grandmother had four different types of cancer throughout her life, had myasthenia gravis(a form of muscular dystrophy), glaucoma, high blood pressure, manic depression, OCD, anxiety, diabetes(insulin dependent), and was a nurse. My mother was a medical assistant and medical administrative assistant, my aunt is a nurse, and when I was a teenager my mother still had all of her medical terminology dictionaries which I studied because I want to be an ultrasound technician and massage therapist. I want this job to get some healthcare jobs under my belt before going into what I want to be because it will look better on me having awesome work ethics which everyone knows work ethics begins within the home. I am very compassionate, kind hearted, an empath, have sympathy for everything and everyone around me, have a very big heart, and want to give back to those who deserve it which I think the people who deserve it the most is our veterans and the elderly.

A little about me... I've been a certified nurses aide for over 20 years. I've worked in nursing homes, private sitting and I've worked in Hospice for the past 10 years. I love what I do. Since i started working as a CNA, I've gone to school to do other things, but I keep coming back as a CNA, so I feel this is my passion. My children are grown and I have 3 amazing and beautiful grand children, and another on the way. That's a little about me....
