I spent summers with my grandmother, picking up women in nursing homes, taking them to her beauty shop to have their hair done, then going out for a special lunch or a shopping trip. It was those early memories that impressed upon me a desire to be of service to others. As a high school teacher, every day provided opportunities to serve and provide for students and familes in my community and now that I have retired, I have an opportunty to be of service to those who can no longer help themselves.
