I enjoy working with people and most enjoy jobs where you have one on one interaction with others. I enjoy taking care of elder family members and would like to help others in this way. I like doing work that has the potential to make a difference in someone's life. Its essential that a caregiver feel the desire to want to help by showing empathy and compassion,I let my patient know I care about them I do what I can to help, not because I have to but because I want to im patient reliable and trustworthy. Caregivjng in itself is a huge personal accomplishment and im proud of my resourcefulness,flexibility and determination even with a difficult patient caregiving can be one of the most rewarding experiences of your life.

When my mother was ill, I was the one she would call to make her scrambled eggs. I took her to the swimming pool and hot tub to get exercise and relaxation. I cut her hair, took her to doctor's appointments and then lunch, and generally gave her some companionship. As I dusted her knickknacks, she told me where each was from. Mom died in 2002. When dad was ailing, some of my family tried to move him into assisted living, but he wanted to stay in his own home. I gave up my apartment and moved in with him, while working in publishing during the day. We had a great time together for a year and a half. Just after he died, I lost my job because I had spent too much time with dad. That evening, the daughter of a neighbor I'd assisted over the years called me, asking if I could help her mother. That began years of caregiving in which I have helped people stay in their homes, and enjoy life. I've brought my keyboard and played hymns and popular songs, singing with them and laughing. As a caregiver, I am simply happy to help my people stay in their own familiar setting. I believe the way I interact with them makes them happy. And my cooking makes them extremely happy! I built my cooking experience on my mom's, then learned to cook for fewer than 8 people! I edited three "Taste of the Country" cookbooks, working with a professional dietician who taught me many ways to fit dietary needs while providing tasty food.

I've worked in support services for the past 20 years. From customer service to helping others run companies. Caregiving has been the most fulfilling for me. It feels great to put all my skills to work for someone who needs it the most. My goal is to help my clients feel respected, comfortable and cared for. They deserve to live through these difficult and or confusing times with someone who can provide the attention and care they deserve.

I've always loved taking care of others and working in a nursing home as a cna. Im very patient and do my job to the best of my ability and make sure that the patient is comfortable, and happy.

I have been a CNA for 18+ years, I became a caregiver so I could take care of my grandma. I love what I do. I am honest, trustworthy, funny, kind, loving, and can be firm if need to be. I am a stickler on doing as much for themselves as possible, because if they loose it, they cannot get it back. I treat my clients as I would want to be treated, with respect, dignity, and compassion.

Why did you become a Caregiver? I became a caregiver to help and give back to the elderly the way I saw my grandparents work so hard to raise and keep me happy. What do you like about being a Caregiver? I love being able to help my clients still live an enjoyable happy life to the best extent they can. What is a personal achievement you are proud of? I'm very proud that I now can help take care my grandparents and show them what a great young woman they have raised me to be. Tell us something about yourself. I'm 18 Years old I've been a caregiver for 2 years. I love working with the elderly because its honestly a totally different experience than working with any other age group you are able to learn a lot more and from a whole different perspective and i believe that ever person deserve to be treated with love and care no matter what stage or condition they are in because they are still human beings and deserve to be treated with dignity and respect.
