I have the calm and quiet type of demeanor and have been told on several occasions that my voice is very calming. Basically, I get along with everyone. What attracted me to becoming a caregiver is that it's my calling and what I'm passionate about. It comes very naturally for me after being in this profession for over 30 years. What I enjoy about caregiving is how it makes the person I'm caring for feel. My heart is full when they feel like I've done a job well and that's my intention. I love when my clients request me! I became a caregiver after helping my dad through his battle with cancer when I was just a teenager. I am a single mother of three children. I love reading, music, arts and crafts. I feel I sympathize with the elderly more so than the younger population, specializing in dementia and memory care. I look way younger than I am, I am somewhat shy but once I get to know a person we are friends forever.

I worked as a CNA for 16 yrs (3 years as a PCW) until I went back to school for my associates in Medical Administration. I went into the field as I love taking care of others. I find it to be very rewarding, like no other career. Helping others with daily life skills, no matter what it is, brings joy to my life. Knowing I make a difference feels good. I am very professional as I have worked in the field for such a long time. I am sensitive to a person's needs as well. It is very important to me to that the client/patient is taken care of as well. At some point in our lives we all will require help. It is so important that we remember this as we care for another in need. I am looking to work the overnight shift 2-3 nights per week or 5-6 shifts in a 2-week pay period. I am available to work between 7p-9a. I am also willing to work longer shifts up to 15 hours per shift. I would like to stay around 30 per week as I am enrolled in an online Medical Transcription course presently.

Hello! I'm Amber! I'm 38 years young and have 2 boys my oldest is 16 and my youngest is my special guardian angel. My inspiration to be a caregiver was my family. At the age of 38 my dad had the Widow Maker heart attack. At that point, not knowing if my dad was going to survive is when I realized being in the medical field is where I was meant to be. After my dad got better, my grandma started showing signs of Alzheimer's and Dementia. A very short time later she passed. This was a very difficult time but it was also when being a caregiver made the most sense. In 2016 I attended Fox Valley Technical College and started CNA classes. Along with my CNA I also have all of my CBRF certifications and medication administration. As of January 2022 I'm back at FVTC to further my medical career studying for my Certified Medical Assistant and in the summer I'll be adding EMT-Basic as well! I am truly blessed to have my amazing fiance and my family as my support system and personal cheer squad! I love what I do and I look forward to the next chapter in the book of Me!

I became a Certified Nursing Assistant because I have always wanted to go into the medical field. When starting the program I realized is that I cared for people and they cared for me as well. I engage with every person that I take care of as if it were myself or family member, making sure that all their needs and the needs of the family are taken care of and they are happy and feel a sense of relief and comfort when they have the right person as a caregiver. I enjoy every aspect of being a caregiver but what I personally enjoy is making them happy, talkative, peaceful and special. I just don't take care of their main cares I take care of the person and what is meaningful to them. A personal achievement that I have had is continuing on for over 7 years as a CNA and finishing school soon as a RN. I am a very outgoing, happy, get what needs to be done diligently and timley, while still making sure that the people I am around are content and happy with the environment and my company as well. I enjoy getting to know people and their experiences and allowing them to blossom under the correct care. I take pride in my work, go the extra mile and still make time to have a good healthy family life as well.

What makes me a great caregiver is my attentiveness and positivity. I became a caregiver because I wanted to help those who truly needed it. In high school, I explored the nursing program and realized CBRF and older care is where my heart belonged, as well as early year disability (down syndrome, etc.)

I am very good at what I do, I take pride in what I do and I am very passionate. I have training in lifts, lifting, dementia, diabetes, combative cares, medication administration, first aid, safety precautions, parkinsons, and schizophernia. All of my residents in the past have grew on me and it makes caring for them a treasure in my life. I treat everyone I care for as if they are my family, my life revolves around the people I care for and my family. I have a loving husband, two beautiful children. One 9 year old and a 10 month old:)
