I began my fascination with healthcare as a child. I would polish my grandmother's white nursing shoes for her in the mornings as she was getting ready for work. She worked as a CNA at a nursing home in Lexington, VA. I remember looking at her and thinking I want to be just like her when I grow up. So as an adult I received my LPN and worked 18 years in Critical Care roles as well as skilled nursing home units in Roanoke and Martinsville to honor her memory. I've spent most of my life taking care of people because that is my passion and what I'm most proud of.

I retired in 2014 from Ultrasound. I have been in the medical field for over 40 years and have had many duties through those years. I started and a Radiologic Technologist then became a Medical Diagnostic Sonographer. From there I was Director of Radiology for 9 years. I started back in Ultrasound and retired from there. My original profession is very physically demanding and I can't work a 40 hour week at the pace required. I would like to help elderly or disabled persons to maintain a normal lifestyle. I am a well rounded person, don't smoke or drink and am a devout Christian.

I'm very caring. I'm gentle and kind. I'm loving and very passionate about my job. I love taking care of people and I take pride in what I do. I love to help and sometimes sit and listen to the stories they have to tell. I have took care of multiple of my family member and some friends family members. I'm skilled at what I do and I love my job.

I really enjoy taking care of those who have takin care of so many others! The career path I have chosen in home health care directed towards seniors is truly my passion!! I take great pride in this line of work!

Through out my career I have always worked with the public. I love working with people of all ages to meet and satisfy their needs. Being a patient assistant has taught me patience, kindness, and helpfulness. I know how to work long twelve hour shifts and I also know how to work under pressure or in critical situations. The job title really caught my eye as I was starting school for nursing. I am so glad I have picked this field of work and I get to help people who really need it. I love gaining experience and helping change lives. Being in the hospital setting for almost a year I have seen it all and I believe it prepares me greatly for my job.

1. I became a caregiver because I have a strong love and passion for helping and caring for others. I have long term goals of becoming a nurse, and I used to volunteer on the rescue squad. 2. I love being able to provide the help and care that others may need. Even more than that, I love the companionship, and love and friendship it brings you both. 3. Four years ago, my mother was diagnosed with terminal cancer. I left my job to stay at home and care for her. I cared for her from the moment she got out of the hospital and was sent home with hospice. I was with her through everything, until she was bedridden and couldn't eat or even open her eyes. I stayed at her bedside, bathed her, changed her catheter, adult diaper, dispensed her medicine, and talked and read to her until she passed away in my arms. I did this along with being a single mother of 2 young children and providing support to my other family members. Since then I have been caring for my soon to be mother-in-law on my own time while working and caring for my children. It is a true passion that brings me joy and happiness that I can love and care for others. 4. I am 30 years old, and I am a mother of 2 wonderful children. I am a very empathetic, loving and caring person. I have recently decided to look into going to college for nursing to pursue my dreams. Losing my mother four years ago was the hardest thing I have ever went through but has surely made me a stronger person, and also made me very passio
