I became a caregiver because I wanted to make a difference in other people's lives. The satisfaction of watching somebody achieve their goal is what I like most about being a caregiver. What attracted me to do this work was seeing how I can help someone, what can I do make their life a little more comfortable. It brings me joy to see clients feel better after giving them care and making their situation a little more bearable in their time of discomfort. I was working at a assistant living facility and they ask me to be night supervisor. They recognized my skills and asked if I was interested in the position. I was honored to take the position. I was always complemented on how I handle stressful situations.
My main strength is my ability to communicate with people from all walks of life. By being able to communicate effectively, I am able to more clearly understand not only what patients are needing, but how I can effectively assist them. I have a lot of empathy and compassion with each of my patients. I have a habit of putting myself in another's place and totally understanding how important it is to not only be able to communicate well but also provide the best quality of care with all of my patients and that is what makes a very loyal and dedicated Person.
I started back in 1982 working with the handicap, And still doing this today because I love working with people. I work with all ages, I do this because its a lot of people out their who need us, that can't help themselves. I am proud of myself because a lot of clients I work with love me, Because I take the time out with them, and go the extra mile as they say. I am a people person who love specially being around older people. Because no matter how old you get you can learn a lot from them.
I became a caregiver because I grew up helping people. Whether they were old or young. I love the feeling that I am helping and making a difference in someone's life. I am proud that I have accomplished a lot of the goals and conquered a lot of obstacles in my life that people thought was going to break me down. I am a confident, encouraging, loving and caring person. I have taken care of a special needs child for 6 years and became part of the family. I became a caregiver because I have a heart for helping others who aren't able to do for themselves. I bring hope, Love and security to the client in need. I love being able to encourage, help them to regain their independence, comfort and support. One of my achievements that i'm proud of is obtaining my GED. I'm a vibrant 36 year old mother and wife.
What made me get into the business was personal experience dealing with my handicapped brother who has passed away. Ever since than I wanted to help people what made me choose the older citizens is the way they needed more help and companionship I loved working with older citizens because I treat and think of them such as one of my own family members.
