Being a lifelong volunteer, I am currently looking to devote myself to caring for persons in need in a professional capacity using my volunteer and professional experience and expertise. My role in caring for others includes: I was a certified hospice volunteer for seven years with the Religious Sisters of Charity of the Roman Catholic Church and other Not-For-Profit hospices and the care of family members who were wheelchair-bound and an Alzheimer patient. Hospice responsibilities included; companionship, emotional support for patients and their families, transportation to and from medical appointments, the physical care of non-ambulatory patients, organizing family events, and ensuring medications were taken properly, routine household chores - including light cleaning and cooking, etc. I have held certifications in; First Aid, CPR, defibrillation, certification in caring for persons with blood-borne pathogens, firefighting, slip trips and fall prevention, HAZMAT, etc. I was the caretaker for both my mother and father in their later years. My mother was confined to a bed and wheelchair following a stroke until her death. My father suffered from dementia until he passed away. My duties included emotional support, the running of the household, supervising household repairs, cooking, transportation of wheelchair-bound persons, scheduling of medical and other appointments. The coordination and oversight of medical care with health care providers for both parents and other similar duties were assumed by me as my parents' health declined. Being a caregiver is an unpredictable task, so I will go with the flow and not let small changes upset me. Respite care allows the primary caregiver to have a break. My uncle has cerebral palsy, and my mother is the primary caregiver. Caring for a loved one can be overwhelming at times which can cause burnout. However, I will help with your loved one's care, and you will be able to focus on your own health, maintain a full-time job, or care for other members of your family. You can trust me with your family because I understand the value of having a trustworthy, attentive, and compassionate caregiver.

I am a single Mom of two Sons, 24 and 20. When they were younger, I volunteered and worked at their schools as well as coached their soccer and basketball teams. I've volunteered at churches, senior homes and The American Red Cross. I am compassionate, empathetic, a good listener, responsible, dependable and trustworthy. I began working as a Nursing Assistant before one had to be certified by the state of Florida. I worked at Magnolia Nursing Home in Pensacola, FL. for about 13 years. I went back to school and got my Degree in criminal Justice, and I worked for the state of Florida in the Juvenile System in various program. Community probation, Juvenile Detention, and Intensive Supervision probation. In 2004, I began working parttime as a companion and Home Health Aid for Nurse Finders, and I worked for Hospice in Pensacola, as a prn aide on the week end. I am an experience caregiver.
