My personality traits to help me be a great caregiver Patient,compassion, Dependability, Attentiveness I became attracted to being a caregiver when my mother got sick and i had to take care of her from my 18th birthday until she passed away a few years later What I enjoy most about caregiving is I enjoyed taking care of my mother and making her feel comfortable and relaxed and with her knowing she had nothing to worry about on her hard days and would like to help others in this way. I enjoy working with people and most enjoy jobs where I have one-on-one interaction with others.

I lovingly took care of my elderly mother-in-law for 5 years in my home. She was my sidekick and best friend. I assisted her with every facet of aging. I helped her with bathing, diaper changes, grooming, turning, mobility, entertainment, and I was there with her through every hospital stay and in her final days on hospice at home. I am glad I was able to give her the dignity and respect she deserved and I love that I was able to keep her at home where she wanted to be.

I got my Personal Care Aide license in 2006 so I would know how to care for my mother who had cancer and then 2011 tended to my father til his death in 2013. I enjoy visiting and hearing about the clients unique lives, I enjoy the flexiablity in hours as a caregiver, but most of all knowing with my assistance I am helping people live longer and happier lives indepentently. I am proud that I was able to care for both my parents before they died and I was able to keep them from going to the nursing home. I am a single, white, female, mother, caring, reliable, hard working, a great cook, and friendly. I worked for East Arkansas Area Agency on Aging and recertified my personal care aide training in Arkansas in 2014. My clients always bragged that I can fold laundry like department store and the fitted sheets like should be folded. That is due to my 10 years in hotels business and many years working Apparel department at Wal-mart. I am currently a greeter at Wal-mart.

I gave up school in 10th grade to take care of my mother because no one else would then I meet my husband and I have been taking care of her for 5 years and then my husband got very sick and I take care of him as well he has seizures he has diabeties he can't hear very well and he is blind in one eye and might have cancer of the tongue my mother in law is 65 she has diabeties copd she has a blood disorder and might have colon cancer its not easy but I enjoy taking care of people it makes me feel worth something to be able to help people
