I have ALWAYS enjoyed being needed and helping others out. I would be the girl running to grab bandaids for my friends if they needed one. Iv always been caring and enjoy caring for others. That is a big part of my personality ! It is so enjoyable to be involved in elderly lives ! I find it so rewarding to help those who have lived their life. What a privilege it is and while they might be done living their "best" life, I enjoy bringing them ease and comfort. A part of me feels like I help them enjoy life even though it's not the life they use to have. I have worked with clients on chemo, altimeters, dementia, and gastrointestinal disorders. It has shown me how you come off and say things make a HUGE difference in their every day life. I like to keep it as simple as possible, as stress free as possible, and as comfortable as possible. This makes life easy. I am proud I have found through experience these little tactics out. I absolutely LOVE caregiving. It helps prepares me for my future roles as a further my career. Some years back, my late husband was diagnosed with ALS and I became his primary caregiver. Years later as I decided not to continue working in retail, I became a phlebotomist and realized how much I enjoyed Patient Care, and realized how much compassion I felt for patients and their families and realized how much I enjoyed that kind of work. I transferred to a training program to become a Patient Care Technician. I worked in that capacity for several months. I loved my job but found that I would prefer working in a home setting or somewhere where more individual attention can be paid to patients.Although hospitals provide excellent care, there is usually pressure to spend as little time as possible interacting with patients and their families. Sometimes there is a need for more individual attention and patients may benefit greatly from that attention. I currently work one on one as a caregiver and find greater satisfaction from this than I did when there was so much pressure to spend less time with each patient.

I believe I was put on this earth to be a Caregiver I treat clients like there my own family. I get close with there family and friends to learn all I can about them. I stick with them til the end and Love them dearly. I will do whatever I have to to put a smile on their face including dance around the living room. I have two other women that help me care for them when needed. I keep in touch with their families long after I'm no longer working for them. Just Love my job.

I've been a caregiver for over 3 years now. I moved from Louisiana to find more opportunities and to start fresh. I enjoy spending time with my clients and making them feel loved & cared for!!!

Hmm...about me? When I took the class to become certified, I had no idea the impact it would have on my life, much less, how it would impact the person I am today. I think being personable and empathetic are important qualities that have been enhanced throughout the last nine years. I never put much though into becoming a caregiver, it just kind of came about, but now I feel like its a way for me to step away from "self." Whatever may be going on in life gets left at the door or at the time clock, then I step into another "self." Its hard to describe the way this type of work makes me feel which, in turn, has a positive affect on my job performance and I like to think people can see this shine through in my personality. I can honestly say that I'm happy to have gained the friendships, knowledge and experience I wouldn't have otherwise had a chance to gain. My most recent personal achievement is being enrolled to start on online classes to take the next step in the healthcare feild.

I am working for a company called ICM which is a caregiver company as well. My sister has autism and I used to take care of her. Iv had experience in many situations and I'm only 19. I'm very mature and have a child of my own. I'm looking for a better income that's why I'm applying here.
