Growing up in a culture where we care for our grandparents and parents in our household means I have the warmth and compassion that are utmost to be an excellent caregiver. I have proper training and experience undergoing numerous cases which only reinforce my caregiving knowledge and skills, dependability, honesty and professionalism.
I have been a Certified Nursing Assist for 19 years. I became a caregiver because I love to help others. Being able to help someone at a vulnerable time in their lives whether it is because of an illness or because they are aging and need help is a rewarding feeling. Helping to take care of others with respect, empathy and dignity is my life's work.
I have always loved caring for others, even as a child. I started working in a Adult Care home in my late 20s and found my passion! I have owned 2 assisted living homes and a Senior Daycare. I have tried other occupations and have always come back to caregiving. I also work with Alzheimers and dementia patients. I am very loving, kind, and patient. With over 20 years experience, you can rest assured that your loved one is in good hands and will receive the best of care!
People say that when you love what you do it shows. Well, it shows in how I care for my clients. I have loved every client; I have ever cared for, that is what makes me a great caregiver. I have a friend that believed that I would be a great caregiver. She hired me; I worked day shifts and learned a lot about care giving with my first client. I believe that care giving chose me, I am thankful it did. I am now a certified home health aide with over 6 years of experience. I am a kind, trustworthy caregiver with a very diverse skill set. I have decided to go back to college to pursue becoming a Registered Nurse. I am currently on the waiting list at Pima Community College. There is so much to love about working with seniors, I enjoy helping people live with quality and dignity. It is important to share my joy and bring brightness to my clients’ everyday lives. When clients have a medical set back or surgery it gives me joy help them regain some or most all of what they lost. That is one of the most rewarding feelings. My clients are wise, I have learned much from them. Each client holds a special place is my heart, I carry them with me wherever I go. I believe "Happy is the home with a full cookie jar.” therefore, I enjoy baking cookies and live life with zest. A few of my many talents are my organizational skills and positive get it done attitude. I hope to get to know you and work with your family!

I am currently a caregiver at an agency. I am responsible to give the individual their meds, take them to doc appt, cook, clean, help with personal hygiene, etc. Before that I've worked other places. I love going to work each and everyday knowing that I'm having a positive impact on someone else's life events if it not a life changing impact. I am a quick learner and I'm a hard worker.
I have always had a deep compassion for people and did volunteer work for San Diego Hospice before becoming a caregiver in 2009. I am one of 7 siblings and in 2009 took on the responsibility of overseeing the care of my elderly father. I became a caregiver to better understand his needs and he passed away in my home after 3 years. I have deeply connected with clients and their families over the years and have been asked to be with the client as they passed away because their family knew and appreciated how connected we had become. I have been with a meditation center for 20 years which also helped me to connect to clients.
My name is Gloria , I live in Tucson, Az What do I like about being a caregiver? It gives me great comfort and satisfaction in helping someone else in need of care . I have been doing this for several years either by running errands, fixing or feeding someone their meals. I help by doing light house work, laundry, or whatever someone might need while I am with them. I have worked at St Luke Home for the elderly. I, also, have three sons, who over the last 20 years needed me to assist in getting them to and from doctor and hospital appointments. All three were in need of a kidney and were in one stage of dialysis or in the hospital recovering. All have recovered and are doing well. My last son received his a year and a half ago. Now I am reaching out to help someone in need of assistance, who would need my help to get around Tucson or someone who needs a caregiver to help in the home. Feel free to call me if you would like any other question answered.
If you're looking for help then this is probably a very stressful time for you and/or your loved one. There is major transition going on -- and some of it might not be welcome. I want to add to your ease, decrease your burden, make this transition easier. You're looking for someone to entrust yourself or your loved one with. You probably want someone you can depend on, who's on time, reliable, conscientious, experienced, dedicated, professional, competent. I am. And I imagine you also want someone who has "soft-skills": intuitive, compassionate, deep listener, empathetic, honest, considerate, patient. That's me too. Put them together and that means you or your loved one will receive care from someone who can hold compassionate space, listen deeply, respond to needs, anticipate what's needed, while also providing competently for health and daily tasks. In addition, I respect the people I work with. Too often, people and professionals treat sick, disabled or elderly people as incompetent, invisible or childlike. I talk to them as adults (if they're mentally capable) and people. I ask health professionals to address the person directly, ask their questions to them, and give them eye contact. I have counseling, facilitating and coaching skills, as well as caring for people with injuries/aging. I am not scared of people being ill on mental, physical, emotional, or spiritual level. I can "hold space" for what comes up. Resparking the will to live after a major life change or physical trauma is something I excel at. It's a lovely dance to find the balance of inter/dependent, and try not to figuratively "step on toes" finding it. I am a certified Holistic Healthcare Practitioner from AONH (Association of Natural Health), which means I can often share healthy advice, while also working within the parameters of your current medical team. With me, you or your loved one is in excellent hands, combined with a compassionate heart, and a bright mind.
