I am an avid listener, and I care for all of my clients like I would my own family. I originally got into caregiving because of my great aunt. She got put into a care home and wasn't getting good treatment so it made me want to change that and help others that are in a position like her. I enjoy hearing the stories and life experiences that each client has lived and getting sound advice from them. A personal achievement I'm proud of is not giving up even when I wanted to. One of my client's daughters was so horrendous that all of her mothers other caregivers quit except me. Because I knew how badly she needed someone to look after her. Her daughter was abusive and I had to turn her in to my old agency.

I am naturally maternal being the oldest of 3 boys and being the only girl in my family. I don't have any kids of mine own so being a caregiver fulfills those maternal needs in a way of providing care to others. I love to cook and give my residents a great meal. What attracted me to being a caregiver was the growth within the companies that I can continue on with. Also caregiving just came naturally to me because I helped take care of my grandpa who was in his late 80's from the ages of 13-adulthood I helped take care of my great grandpa who lived with us. I carried that into my job field, and it just came naturally to me. I enjoy being a person there who they trust and know they can count of for good quality care. Nothing makes me more happy than hearing "thank god you're here" because that feeling of being trusted by my residents to make the right choices and be there for them really means a lot to me. A personal achievement I have is learning how to bake and cook better for my resident's. Also becoming ultimately stronger as a person when handling these intense emergency situations, they'll prepare you for the real world and real scenarios and that has made me more confident in my day to day life.

I have more then 5 years of experience working as a CNA and a live in caregiver for home care agencies and have worked in nursing/retirement homes as well. Dependability, reliability, kindness, empathy, calm nature are few of my strongest traits in taking care of my loved ones. I grew up with my grandparents and naturally we take care of our own as it is a cultural thing. I love being around seniors and assist in whatever way I can as they remind me so much of my grandparents who lovingly took cared of us. Making them smile and making them feel comfortable makes me feel complete and happy.

Nurturing and motherly traits have always come naturally to me. I am a mother of 3 but have been caring for my siblings as well as neighborhood children since I was a young girl. I have officially been in healthcare for just about 6 years but have been immersed in the care of family members before it was even my job title. I found through the care of my mom during her hospice stay, that caring for others during life changing events is my passion. I take pride in my work and the help I offer to those in need. It's important for me to mirror qualities of not just hard work and determination but compassion, empithy, and times of being selfless to mold my children into well rounded kind little people. My favorite part of my work is celebrating all the victories with my patients, no matter how small it may seem to them. I value the relationships we build and look forward to going to work to interact with them. I have truly found my life's work. I am a retired Paramedic and am looking for part time work. I love to learn new things. I care about people and have empathy for others. I have been a caregiver most of my life. I raised three children. I am good at multi-tasking. I took care of several elderly relatives. I am a good listener and like talking to people. I am proud that I have overcome all the fears in my life and that I completed a career in Emergency Medical Services.

I'm currently a student going through LVN school, so I have a quite the background when it comes to patient care. Not only do I enjoy helping out with caregiving, but it could also help me learn more towards my scope or practice. Going along with that is also learning about those with different diagnoses and how to help in different ways, which would make me a better care giver for anyone I help! I've worked for Senior living Companies for over thirty years and I love working for Seniors, I have compassion, respect and understanding of seniors. I've been a Chef for Seniors and love knowing that I'm nourishing them, I enjoy entertaining them also, through activities. I also work with Alzheimer residents, redirecting them when they are confused. My biggest achievement that I'm proud of is making my residents Happy Daily, through my compassion and respect for seniors.

I started off as a caregiver working up a little high to certified home health aide and now just weeks away from receiving my Nursing assistant license. In all I have about 2 1/2 years of experience so far and am planning to become a registered nurse very soon as well. I have worked in home health environment as well as facilities/ retirement homes/ hospital rehabs. I am quite the thorough worker bee and enjoy working with elderly along with special needs (of all ages)/children too.
