I have been a Certified Nursing Assistant/Caregiver for over 20 yrs. I am compassionate and understand the importance of meeting the needs of clients while helping them maintain a high quality of life. I truly enjoy the one on one and getting to know the person and building a trust with them. The smile on there face is priceless. To know there needs without verbal communication at times are being met. I enjoy taking on some of the responsibilities that families are not always able to take on due to there schedules. I became a caregiver because my aunt was suffering with ovarian cancer and she had no one to take care of her. She lived in Kern City by herself. I took care of her for the last three months of her life. It was very emotional but it was also very uplifting. I helped her move on and it was a very wonderful experience. The personal achievements I am proud of has to do with my background. At the age of 42 I was diagnosed with breast cancer. I had a double mastectomy, chemo and radiation. When a person lives through a diagnoses like this their outlook on life changes. I want to help people now. I want to make life easier on others if I can. Life is precious and tomorrow is not a promise. I've been married for almost 15 years to a high school PE teacher and basketball coach. I have 2 daughters and a son. They are all adults now and live on their own. I put down 24 years experience because I believe as a mother, you are always a caregiver from the moment your children are born. You are always on call, there is always a problem, and you never stop caring. My parents live in Kern City and I help them out as often as they need me. My mother just had a hip replaced so I also took care of her.
