Hi my name is Madeline Chaffee. A little bit about my caregiving history; I've been caregiving for over 3 years. I've worked in assisted living homes, as well as a live-in caregiver. I love what I do. I think it's such an important job and I am thankful for every new client I meet. The most important part to me besides of course the care is listening to my clients and being there as a friend. I have experience in just about anything you could think of. My name is Jeffrey Vanderplate. I have been a caregiver in both my personal and professional life, for a total of around six years. I find that out of the occupations that I have tried over the years, that caregiving is by far the most fulfilling and rewarding job I have ever had. I also believe that it seems less of a job, and more of an extension of my ability to care for and be compassionate to people who may not be completely able to care for themselves , or who may need the companionship that is not available to them for any number of reasons. Aside from working with adults with developmental disabilities, and being a counselor for children with visual impairment, I cared for my father during his illness in the last years of his life. I have come to understand that everyone's needs should be met, with no exceptions or exclusions, and that people from all walks and in all stages of life have unique needs and all have incredible things to teach, whether they know it or not. With that being said, I believe that caregiving is vastly beneficial for all involved, and it is most certainly something that I am passionate about.
