I am a caregiver for 26 years. I am a loving and compassionate caregiver. I am working with elderly for more than 20 years and four years with adults with developmental disabilities. Performed my tasks, to assisted residents/ individuals their daily activiites, exercises, daily walk, bathing toileting, remind thier medications. Housekeeping, laundry, and accompanied clients to thier appointments.

I can offer training/education to caregivers and/or family. I can attend doctor appointments to keep Health Care Team and family informed. I am a reliable and patient person who provides first class care. I have worked in various roles where the need to work closely with other people, follow strict rules and procedures and demonstrate understanding and empathy have been required. Caregiving has been a rewarding second career. After retiring from the banking industry, my sister who has been an RN for many years inspired me to follow down this path. It is a very rewarding experience, helping people in need and being there for their families.

I started my career being a Caregiver way back 2014 when I was given an elderly client -- both in their 90's; a male and female. One has Dementia and one with Parkinson's disease. Being the person in-charge of taking care of them I make sure that their welfare are always in top priority by giving them care with compassion. My training as Certified Nursing Assistant earned from Mountain View Los Altos Adult Education equipped me to become a confident and competent in this field. At present, I am working full time as Paraeducator at Santa Clara County Office of Education. As Paraeducator, I am tasked to assist the teacher in the Special Education program to manage the classroom and the students -- making sure their academics and day-to-day activities in school and community are met.

I became a caregiver because of 2 main reasons. 1st is I believe that being a caregiver brings spiritual treasures that will not spoil or be taken away. As a hospice aid for 7 years I realized that we or our spirit belongs to a place where we will no longer suffer. 2nd I always pray for my time when my body also become old and fragile. When that time comes I will also like to be treated the same way I treated my client, with respect, compassion and care. The thing I like about caregiver is the joy that I get after the client passes away and hear from family and friends that I have done a good job. The personal achievement that I can say was from my last case with a couple in Los Altos where the husband died. I was live-in for five days and at the final days of the client I remained with him all night and called the children early in the morning to come and say their final respect to their Father.
