I started as a temporary caregiver before I went to LVN school. I was hired for companionship. When I started working, I never thought that even just for companionship, I can make a difference. My client lives alone. Every time I'm with my client, I felt happy because I was part of my client life. My client started smiling and showed happiness. In a short time I was with my client, we created a bond to each other. We go to the gym together and even to grocery store. I had a great experienced with my first caregiving job. After I graduated from my LVN school, I work with a physician who is a medical director to both home health and hospice. I went to see patients with him to client's home and I was blessed to be part of his ministry. Even though I was not part of any of his patients everyday life, I was blessed enough be there for them in a little time. Even for just a day, I got to know a lot of things about my clients.
I'm an LVN in early retirement. I want to work with a person who needs my help. I have worked many years with handicapped patients. Now I want to do all of the work that is involved in taking care of a person who need help, not just in the medical aspectbut also in their household need. I love to cook and clean real good. I love plants and pets.
I come from a caregiver background, my mother and grandmother were both nurses. I absolutely love being able to help and to restore calm and peace to those who are in need. I started my nursing career at the age of 16 as a CNA, then I became a medical assistant, after that I achieved my LVN. I currently work as a home health nurse. I have experience working with Alzheimer and Dementia patients. I am looking to further my education and to obtain an RN degree in the near future.
I have been a caregiver most of my life. I cared for my grandmother with bronchial asthma and half a lung,, my mother had a brain tumor for several years with thyroid cancer and skin cancer, my uncle had colon cancer and Parkinson's Disease and lived with me. I have 2 grown sons. I have a paraplegic wheelchair bound husband who works as a hospital administrator for a convalescent/hospice hospital. I have been a Licensed Vocational Nurse since January 2003. I love being a caregiver because I get great satisfaction from helping others deal with their health issues to meet their optimal health status, whether it be physically, mentally, spiritually, etc... if possible. I am also a massage therapist, singer, and poet. I use these skills if necessary also. I have gone on a Mission trip, voluntarily, to Ghana, Africa, to help triage on a nursing team, for Paul Wilbur Ministries. One of my most accomplishments in life. I also have volunteered to help deliver food to the hungry for Riverside Mission, among many other organizations.I also have worked as a nurse voluntarily for an autism camp a couple summers ago. I was a bus driver for the special needs children/young adults for approx. 6 years before graduating from nursing School. I have willingly been a part to give back to the human population whenever I can.
I come from a large family and I took care of my siblings when my parents could not be able to, due to financial problems. I derived the joy of seeing my siblings complete education and get jobs and start families of their own. It is the greatest achievement I am so proud of because even when they were sick, I was there for them. I took care of their every need and today, they are very thankful. I have the passion to take care of all kinds of people and help them go on with their lives despite what their conditions may be, i love making even a small difference in their lives. I am reliable, respectful, honest, caring, confident and diligent in my work. I work hard and will always show up for work unless there is a situation beyond my control.

When I worked as a nurse I was able to learn excellent communication skills, patient (customer) care, along with organization, and written skills. With my volunteer work, I have been able to increase my network with others and learned further leading skills. While doing my volunteer work I have discovered my love in teaching and am currently striving to become a high school teacher. Since I am currently going to a university I am looking for a part-time job that will not interfere with school. I still love taking care of people and want to help others.
I believe that i will be a good caregiver because i am a licensed vocational nurse. I have the heart to heal and care for patients and have a compassionate attitude towards them and their families. I always put myself in place of my patients or clients to be able to provide them with an excellent care. I always make sure that i observe my patients/clients when giving care and reports any changes in their conditions to their families and to the physician. I am patient, dependable, trustworthy and flexible with schedules at all times. Able to perform other related duties as assigned.
As I grew up in my neighborhood,I witnessed a lot of accidents that I assisted in, I took that desire to be more helpful and joined the California Army National Guard as a medic. I was trained in Fort Sam Houston, Texas and then sent to Lederman Army Hospital in San Francisco, CA. I supported training exercises in which I ran troop medical clinics. To get my nursing license, my unit unit sent me to a civilian LVN school. I did well in school and obtained my license. I the n worked at several hospitals in Southern California. My experience was in ICU, ER, medical-surgical floors, and medical jail floors. My later years in nursing have revolved around home care nursing. I have worked with everyone from babies on ventilators to the elderly. My skills are very good, I am passionate about nursing and I always strive to increase my knowledge base. I am also considered a people person. If I am selected to care for your loved one, I will be actively involved. If it is a young one, I will learn what the therapists want to do and I will follow through. Although I love to interact with my patients, I take my lead from the person receiving care. If it is desired that I perform my duties without much talking, I can do this. I always strive to learn and so my best personal achievement was to attain my bachelor's degree. Although, I have given my background in nursing, I will add some of my personal interests. Befor
