I retired from state employment as a secretary eight years ago, and decided that i wanted to start a new career that would give me an opportunity to be of service to others. Caregiving has been the perfect second career for me. I started my first care giving job with the Sacramento Senior Companion Program. As a volunteer for that program, I provided care and companionship for elderly women for one year. I worked with various clients through the Seniors Helping Seniors Program after that, but for the past six years, I've worked part time primarily for clients through the County of Sacramento's In-Home Supportive Services Program (IHSS). My duties include basic housekeeping, and providing transportation to doctor's appointments, grocery stores, and other locations as needed. I also offer advocacy services for clients with financial, medical, or home service issues; research prescription information; provide home safety advice; and offer companionship. I'm always eager to learn new things associated with care giving, and welcome any questions you may have about my experience and qualifications. At this time, I hope to find part time work during weekdays. I am also open to working occasional weekends. My car is almost new, and my DMV record is clean. I prefer that job sites be less than 20 miles from my home in Antelope. Thank you for taking the time to review my profile, and I hope we will have an opportunity to work together in the future!
First and foremost, I have been in the field. For more than 25 years, I have been very successful in providing care for individuals according to each clients needs. I pride myself on the fact that I got one particular client who wasn't willing to participate in any exercise and was wheelchair bound to not only participate, but eventually began walking. I am extremely proud to say I absolutely adore working with seniors, I've been doing it for a long time and I don't anticipate changing. Thanks for your time and consideration.
(Hourly rate is negotiable depending on level of care required) Being a caregiver for 12 years and loving this career! Ever-since being introduced to this career, I have acquired the passion and enthusiasm into taking care of, not only seniors, but people of all age groups who desperately require care and assistance and having to make them feel secure and happy in their own environment, homes and communities and making an impact in their lives so that they may get through each day with comfort and peace. I am very passionate with the work i do. I have taken care of several patients in the past from which i have had many different experiences with, which involved bathing, laundry, toilet assistance, hoyer lift, meal preparation, feeding, using feeding machine, medication, doctor/nurse visits, dental appointments and moreso with hospice cases.
Hi my name is Darci, I have been working in health care for the past 20 years. I started out as a Medical Assistant working in an Urgent Care Center in my early 20's. Soon after I was offered a position as a private caregiver for a quadriplegic female and I absolutely loved it. To me there is no job more rewarding and fulfilling then care giving. I have worked as a private in home caregiver and most recently (2010-2012) as a Caregiver/Caregiver trainer in a local Alzheimer's facility. It is my purpose to give the highest quality care to the families I have the pleasure of working with.

I started off helping out a friend of the family who was diagnosed with Alzheimer's, That was one of the most rewarding positions that I have ever worked. I enjoy helping people and giving them the quality care that they deserve. In 1989 I was able to help my father after he fell 100' down a mountain cliff. We were able to view the whole rescue on TV with my Dad because the show Emergency 911 was filming and had been interviewing Rescue Air 5. It was great being a part of all the people who were able to respond and help as a team to save my Dads life. In 2010 I helped manage care for a quadriplegic, We developed a relationship and working with Gordon was a pleasure. I have worked with Hospice patience and traumatic brain injuries, also worked in the memory unite at Pointe Palermo. All of the people that I was able to help was so rewarding and life moving.
Working with people in a home care setting, it is essential that a caregiver feel the desire to want to help. By showing both empathy and compassion caregivers will let the person they are caring for know that they care about the person and want to do what they can to help them. I love to give the client the help they need and keep a smile on their face

Hi, I am a registered Care Provider with the state ID# 7507076149. I have been a care visitor for 17 years. I care-visited a lady for 7 yrs as a volunteer, then part-time paid through IHSS before she went into assisted living. During this time, I held a corporate job. I attended college studying Gerontology, which is my passion. I have always been involved with care giving. When my father passed, I decided that I would do what really matters to me which is care giving. I enjoy knowing that I am truly making a difference everyday in someone's life as well as giving respite to families. I am responsible, punctual, take initiative, am patient, a good listener and I communicate well. I feel it's important that a person remain as independent as long as possible. Often seniors are overlooked yet they have so much to contribute and share. I would welcome an opportunity to interview. I am happy to have you check my references, these are families I am currently visiting or visited for a good length of time. I will gladly submit to a DOJ check and drug screen check. Thank you for viewing my profile.
Caregiving has been a part of my whole life. Family and friends whenever in need. Becoming a caregiver was my calling. Being compassionate with someone makes us all better people, regardless of ones capacity to care or their need of care...it's my goal to do my best to keep my client comfortable and not needing anything. My personal achievement only in part was going to college and getting my Bachelors Degree in Health Admin. My goals are not finished, but caring for others along the way is what my calling is. I have taken care of my mother until her death from complications of MS, my grandson since he was a baby....currently 16, but losing his battle everyday. So caring about people and their dignity and their rights to have care and compassion in their lives is important to me. Even if that means never saying a word and just being present.
To be a caregiver is all I've ever wanted to do, I feel like I was born to be a caregiver. And I really love to communicate with elders. I can learn more life experience from them. Also I will be happy when I have the ability to bring some comfort to the elderly, that's so wonderful to see the smile on their face.
