I'm a true caregiver at heart. Whether taking care of my own loved ones to caring for others. I love making a big impact on their lives. Nursing has always been something that interested me. I became a CNA at age 18 and worked in a nursing home for 2 years. I have over 10 years of experience in working with the elderly in various settings. I'm most proud of the acknowledgement from patient families who have seen first hand the care I've given their loved ones.
I started off as a caregiver working up a little high to certified home health aide and now just weeks away from receiving my Nursing assistant license. In all I have about 2 1/2 years of experience so far and am planning to become a registered nurse very soon as well. I have worked in home health environment as well as facilities/ retirement homes/ hospital rehabs. I am quite the thorough worker bee and enjoy working with elderly along with special needs (of all ages)/children too.
Hi! My name is Jalyn, I am brand new to California and seeking to continue my caregiver career down in Redding. I have pursued this path of career due to always being in a family of caregivers, it is so rewarding and you meet some really great clients. I have been a caregiver for around a year, dealing with in home care of all types such as bathing, housekeeping, companionship. Due to being in the field for a year or so, I have encountered many different walks of people that have helped me gain my experience in such a short time. I absolutely look forward to where this career heads me. Thank you!
My love for giving care exceeds what I thought it could! I feel a natural call and ability to do the work that I do. I am however looking to replace the environment I am currently giving care in for one more centered around the patient, so they can be comfortable 24/7 and I can come to them to give them whatever more they need !
I have been in the health care / nursing field extensive amount of years along with experience, caring for individuals of all ages, mostly geriatrics. I started out as a nursing assistant and furthered my education to become an LVN, which i have known to be a "gift"/talent in helping other's. I find myself as a very responsible, reliable, motivated individual with strong communication and listening skills and committed to the highest quality of patient/client care. I believe that i am a warm-hearted, kind, friendly individual with an added sense of humor. Respect and concern are vital when dealing with geriatrics. In my opinion, those attributes make the difference between average care and superior care. I am confident to say that i do have the attributes vital for superior care. I will sum up with this attribute that is so true to me- "treat your patient's/clients the way that you want to be treated".
I started my caregiver journey with my dad in 2001, learning from the ground up I gain knowledge in the aging field and how to provide comfort and joy in a elder's daily life. From there, I joined a continuing care facility and spent the the next 11 years gaining additional knowledge (RCFE and NHA Licensed). I place myself in the senior's shoes to understand what their expectations are and how I can be a partner in helping them navigate this uncertain journey. While some days can be a challenge for that person, I will always make sure my elder friend is happy with the time we spent together.
I believe in any job you pursue care giving included, you have to love it enough to do it for free if you could afford to do so. I believe what makes me a great caregiver is I'm patient, I'm a great motivator to do things they may not do for others they will do for me. I'm loving & kind, I take great pride in my position as a caregiver. People with any kind of disability I feel blessed that they have chosen me to walk this journey with them. It is not always easy yet together we will persevere. I am very proud of my work as a caregiver all the people I have worked for & with I stay in contact with their family's. I have taken several classes on Alzheimer's & Dementia I do lots of research on any new clients disability to learn all about it so I can help them & possibly learn new ways to help. I am reliable & trustworthy I live in Cottonwood Ca, However I am willing to travel for overnight shifts.
My first experience as a caregiver was when I was 15 years old. My grandfather was diagnosed with terminal brain cancer. Both my parents were school teachers so I was responsible for his care every day after school till they got home. My heart is in taking care of others and helping keep them home in there comfort zone as long as possible. I am 38, I obtained my CNA in 2000 and have worked with different companies ever since. I enjoy all people with different illnesses I have extensive training with accute, long term, rehabilitation, psych holds, pediatric and also worked for two years in a lock down alshiemers ward. The job is hard and sometimes mentally exhausting, but I couldn't imagine doing anything different.
I am very easy to get along with, I learned so much caring for my 86 year old mom, the biggest being compassionate and understanding about her feelings, Her medical was extensive so I have also learned the necessary tools to assist in an emergency . My mother lived longer then expected, I think companionship, and having someone who cared made a big difference, knowing I can make a difference in someone's life is a wonderful feeling.
I have enjoyed my Nursing career immensely , and am also enjoying my retirement. I do miss the altruistic rewards of basic patient care. I maintain my current license as I do volunteer for Medical First Aid work. Finally , after many years of working in the high stress field of Nursing , I have achieved work/life balance. This is why I am choosing to give basic care .
I became a caregiver because in my senior year of highschool I was presented with an opportunity of getting my CNA license. My license is no longer current, because it was a washington State license. I like being a caregiver, I love helping people! I'm very outgoing, and I love making people laugh. I am a bit shy at first, until I get to know someone. I actually wanted to become a caregiver, because my grandmother, had a high case of dementia. In her last days she burnt herself all of the way up the left side of the body, because she forgot how to use the stove. Ever since I had wished that I would of been able to help her. So I became a caregiver. I am a hard worker, dependable, compassionate, and patient.
I enjoy helping people. I'm very dependable, loyal, thoughtful, patient, and extremely compassionate. I do have a positive "upbeat" personality. ( I can tone it down when necessary ) I'm also a great cook, enjoy outdoors activities, playing cards, listening, talking and watching older classic movies. I have years of experience which includes, being a mother, a wife, and assisting friends and family with caregiving needs. I also volunteer at my sons school, team mom/ helper for the RB little league and other community involvements. In closing I have passed the background, registered with the state, TB negative, and completed classes for OSHA and caregiving. My new number is 530-366-0658
