Why a caregiver it has always been in the family the nourishment and ability to help each other. I enjoy how my clients share their life history it means we have bonded in a personal way he or she is willing to give information that is usually meant for their family. Personal achievement to be proud of there are many I am proud of overcome any difficulties life put on our path. Life is a rollercoaster we all have difficulties that is the ride going up, we have our scary moments those are the turns/twists on a ride and the fun is the flat area toward the end when everything seems to be going our way.
I am a very nurturing and kind person. I am very sensitive to the physical and emotional needs of those around me, very empathetic, gentle, good sense of humor. Treating people with respect is very important to me and I know it is to you as well. Most recently, for over a year, I worked with 2 female clients. One client is 98 with visual and hearing impairments, diabetes and mild dimentia. I was responsible for taking daily glucose readings, keeping records of her medical data/appointments/medication dispensing. I cooked her a hearty breakfast and we ate together. I introduced her to a game called "WordCross" and she loved to play every day with me. It was great for her mind and was a good social experience as well. Another client had early stage Alzheimers, but was highly functional. I provided companionship, meal preparation for her and her husband, fixed her hair, walked outside with her, did their grocery shopping, and occasionally we enjoyed shopping/lunch trips together. I have additional experience working with clients that have terminal cancer. I not only met their specific physical needs, but created an environment for them which brought them comfort and peace during the most difficult time of their lives. What made me most aware of the needs of seniors was when my own grandmother was near the end of her life. I helped her daily with dressing, grooming, feeding, and eventually accompanied her through her last days in hospice. I understand how important it is for families to feel confident that their loved one is being treated with gentleness and respect. I want to help seniors to have the best quality of life possible. I look forward to visiting with you to see how I could help meet the needs of your loved one, Amy
I am a mother of 5 grown children and 8 grandchildren. I am a loving, compassionate caregiver and love working with the elderly and helping people. I learn so much from them and my experiences with them. Each experience with each client is fulfilling to me and my life as I look forward. I enjoy their company and treasure my time with them and their experiences as well as my own. Before I started working as a caregiver, I cared for family members, my father and my father in law. I come from a family of caregivers . Nearly all the women in my family are caregivers. I personally have loved all the people I have worked with and cared for. And those that have departed, I miss dearly. They were such wonderful people. I really do enjoy my work and the people I work with. I'm skillful and very observant and can adapt to any setting and situation. I have received training throughout my years as a caregiver from agencies and that I have worked for, as well as on the job learning and gaining valuable skills in working with the variety of clients that I have worked with and other professionals such as therapists, nurses, doctors, hospice staff and aids. I have great references and letters of recommendations from all my clients as I keep a portfolio in remembrance of them. I've worked throughout the East Bay, South Bay and SF bay area. I do both live-in and live-out and my rates are negotiable.
I became a Caregiver for my Mother when she was ill. It was about ten years I cared for her. I like assisting people that are in need of having a better quality of living and be most comfortable. I get great satisfaction when I can care for someone that deserves better quality of living and care. I decided to get my Nurses Assist and Home Health Aide certification to do my job better. In the past I worked as a Pharmacy Technician and took Healthcare courses to better myself. I enjoy helping other people and learning of whatever it is.

Caregiving was something I've wanted to do since I myself didn't have any of my grandparents growing up. They lived in Hawaii & Samoa, so when I started in this field of work, it filled that missing spot of building a relationship w/ the elderly. What I love about caregiving is the fact that I'm able to build a friendship with the elderly. I enjoy long talks w/ them, learning new things about their history and so forth, and making sure they're ok & in good spirits. Not to mention, learning new recipes to cook and introduce my family to a new meal :) I am a mother of 4, and am of a Polynesian descent.
I have been a care giver for over 30 years now. It started when I was 17 years old working in a neighborhood coffee shop that seniors dined at regularly. I would overhear them speaking of tasks they could not take care of around their house by themselves. That's when I started offering to come over after work to help them. Then sometimes a husband would come in without a wife or a wife without a husband and I would ask where the other one was, they would reply they were sick at home. I would then asked if I could do anything or check in on them and they really appreciated it. Eventually I gave up my job at the coffee shop and became a full time caregiver. I love working with people while it makes a difference in their life.
