Hi my name is Debra and I have been a caregiver for 9 years. And the reason why I continue this career is I love helping people and to see their condition improve. Especially working with the Geriatric. I love to hear their life stories. And I care about these patients. Also, their families know they can trust me with a family member. My personal achievement: I am most proud of is when my assignment is completed we are sad to part and I know have done a good job and to also, receive a great letter of recommendation. Hi there! My name is Avery, I am currently 22 years old and currently live in California. I am moving to beautiful San Antonio in a few short months. I have been involved in the medical field long before I started my schooling. I have received certifications for CNA, HHA, and CMA care. Although I cannot transfer my CNA and HHA credentials when I move I still have the necessary training and experience most others do not. I advocate for others as I do for myself because the medical field can be exhaustingly confusing. I'm currently in school just a a few months away from finishing my associates of arts degree in the goal of becoming a social worker. My main focus of medical interest/concern is mental health/illness, disabilities, autoimmune disorders, and neurological disorders. I have an autistic sister whom I cared for growing up, I have volunteered in a "special games" at my high school, and I have treated patients with dementia and someone recovering from a stroke. I can cook multiple dishes and I'm always willing to learn more, I know a little bit about gardening even. I would love to share my skills and help those who need it!

I became a caregiver by chance really. I studied and graduated as a Certified Medical Assistant in 2010 but couldn't find work where I lived in that field. The first place to give me a shot right out of school was an In-home care agency. I have always been the mothering type so I found that caregiving was a perfect fit for me.
