My philosophy on care, as an extremely compassionate person naturally, is to take as equivalent as possible to how i would want someone to take care of me. Being originally from Africa, we were taught patience and compassion all our life. I was attracted to being a caregiver by the fact that it is care that someone needs but it is an act of love, a constant good deed with which one can earn a living.My peers usually lament about how patient, how considerate and how cool, calm and collected i am under any and all circumstances. I have 18 years of caregiver experience. I have a CNA for about 15 years. I started caring for folks because back in Africa, we care for our family members so it has been something in my nature to care for people. When I care for elderly folks, I treat them as if they were my family members. I've worked with all types of senior patients. Most patients have conditions of stroke, dementia, mentally challenged patients, cancer patient, hospice etc.
I love being a care giver because I'm a compassionate woman, It's a great feeling making people smile and stay happy. It's never a dull moment with me. What I enjoy most about being a caregiver is the joy I see on my patients faces when they wake up in the morning with the feeling of a good day set to come. I have over thirty years experience from hospitals to convalescent homes to private care. I worked through Jewish family services in the past as well. One of my past patients was the father to two Ivy league doctors sons that I cared for for over five years. My last patient passed away that I cared for for over nine years. I have medical experience with every type of patient. I am familiar with medical terminology and have a higher college degree. Every patient I worked for was pleased with the care I had given them.
