Have been in the Medical Field 30yrs, started from the ground up. First worked @ "JFK Hospital", when CNAs were "grandfathered in" as you were in Nursing Program & passed "Fundamentals of Nursing". After a particular point of the program, "Med-Surg Nursing" the Hospital considered you, a " Nurse Tech" , upon completion of the PBJC Nursing Program, I sat for RN-NCLEX. Didn't pass the 1st time. I was given a suggestion to sit for LPN Boards & passed them. Due to changes in health care structure, & financial issues, JFK wouldn't hire me as an LPN. It was bought out,and kept only certain amt of CNA's by Seniority, letting me go in the process. I had to wait till the area Nursing Homes would hire as LPN jobs were scarce & they were looking for RNs. I sat again for RN NCLEX, & passed and then applied @ a Rehab/LTC have been in either there, an ALF, 3 Nursing Agencies, several other Rehab/LTC & done Private Duty Care for 4 Elderly Parents & a Private Client for the past 10yrs as well. I am also a Certified Florida Notary Public some of duties have helped Patients with Wills, End of Life decision Making etc. My biggest thing about being a great Caregiver is treat the Client like they ARE your Family member, which earns their trust, & makes them MORE comfortable with you giving care to them. This way I can treat my Client as a "Whole Person" not just their Illness. This Includes: their Spirtual, Emotional, Psychological, besides the Physical Needs.
I have worked in many areas of nursing over the past 25 years. I enjoy working in healthcare guiding clients to improved health. I take pride in a job done well and am a kind, gentle, caring person. I am 58 years old, married, mother of 4 grown children and 10 grandchildren. I am a non-smoker and drive a reliable vehicle, a 2015 Honda CR-V.
I am a 37 year old male, strong, capable, and experienced in Nursing. I have an Associate's degree and licensed as a Registered Nurse but I always say that being a good person is something I learned before I ever got certified by the State. I really enjoy helping people and putting a smile on their face and feel like there is nothing I will stop at to make sure I do. Being a male caregiver I have experience with other male patients and the required care including always being neat and presentable. If you need someone to fix a healthy and delicious meal at home I can certainly take care of that too.
I became a caregiver because I felt it has been my natural calling and many years later I feel the same way. I have always nursed from my heart and seemed to establish a positive relationship with my patients. Feedback from patients reinforced my own gut feeling. I have respect and help to maintain dignity from life to death. My personal achievement is small and simple but huge to me. I made a difference to my patient even if it was only for a moment. I am strong and reassuring to my patients. I am conscience of health, fitness and nutrition.
I'm am a very upbeat, positive "senior citizen".I have been semi-retired, as an RN, for severalyears, and as such, have been traveling the globe.I am now ready to settle in the most beautiful place in the world (in my humble opinion), I love becoming close with people , and being able to be the strong arm,one might need , to lean on for a time. I have done home care, at different times, in my career, and find it very rewarding. I love to cook, and I'm basically a "homebody", so the idea of working in a home, is perfect for me.I have excellent references, and would love to speak with you about your needs.
I am a profeesional caregiver, who is compassionate and willing to go the extramile to meet the needs of families across the lifespan I have a passion for caregiving and respects life . I think doing my job with dignity is rewarding when persons are able to enjoy the highest quality of living through my care.
I have always been a caregiver even without having the professional credentials; being a caregiver to others is one of my natural personality traits and it just flow out of me like a breath of fresh air. But I knew with the proper training and education, I would excel in providing care on a higher holistic level, considering the human body, mind, and spirit of the ones I touch. I went from being a certified nursing assistant caring for the elderly and developmentally challenged kids, to being a current registered nurse for over 5 years working in an acute care settings and home agencies; and now pursuing my education as a future Advance Practice Registered Nurse. Caring is my passion and I love it. Saving and making a difference in others 'lives is what I am mostly proud of.
