I am a caregiver for 30 +yrs.i love what i do, though challenging at times i treasure my work.i was the baby of 4 my Mom had a massive stroke and as the baby of the 4 i, along with my husband cared for her at home. She was total care and i had 2 small children at the time as i said it was challenging, i reflect on that time as a privilege because i had a wonderful mother and she cared for me as a child when i couldn't care for my self and now it was my turn to return the love and care she gave me as a child.In addition , my husband and i also care for my father as well as both of his parents. Hello. My name is Nelida I was born and raised in Peru, but moved to America in 2005. I'm married and have two teens (15 and 14 yo). Back in 2005 I volunteered for six month in the activities department at an assisted living facility in NJ. Since 2018 I've been working with seniors in the comfort of their own homes. Taking care of the elderly brings me joy. I love making them laugh, it makes me happy, I also enjoy listening to their stories when they were younger, etc. I'm here to help and I will take care and treat your love ones with respect and compassion like they deserve.

My first job at 16 years of age was at a nursing home as a nurse's aide. I absolutely loved it. I formed a bond with many of the elderly there. So after early retirement from teaching, I knew I wanted to work with the elderly again but more one on one as I have been doing. I feel I am an excellent caregiver because all of my former clients have rated me a 10 when the company asks for feedback. I also go above and beyond. Making sure the house is cleaned thoroughly every day on my down time from assisting my client. I like to cook and bake for them and really share great conversations and try to get them encouraged to do activities, even if its only small activities they can do to keep them stimulated and enjoy life.
