To me give the patient the best care possible, it is important for me to have a personal understanding of and connection with what The patient is going through. Being able to empathize allows the caregiver to put Myself in the patient's shoes, and identify and ease the patient's fears or discomfort.

I have taken care of my parents and I would treat my clients as I would have done for my parents they stayed at home and were cared for in the comfort of their own home. You have to have compassion and treat clients with respect and dignity. Always let them feel they are still independent not treating them like a child. I had my own Adult Family Care Home and I specialized with Dementia residents. I am a dependable, caring and loving individual and I would never treat them any less or make them feel any less than the adults they are.

Hi potential client, I'm Ms. Heatherlee, I'm a very compassionate and patient person for this position in your loving family. I am a perfect match for this kind of work. I've worked with a gentleman in his 90's that had dementia to the point that I had to make sure he could keep his dignity and respect, but still take care of him as he needed me to do so. It was very rewarding. I would really like to start my own business and recruit a beautiful line of care givers that really have the same passion that i do, to do what we are called for to do, as caregivers. Thank you for your time, Hope to talk with you soon !! HeatherLee

I became a caregiver because I love people. What I love about being a caregiver is the smile they have on their face when I arrive. My personal achievement, giving my patient hope. I had a resident one time that broke her leg. At first, she didn't trust anyone including the nurses but I finally convinced her to trust in me. After a few days, I was able to get her to start her therapy and she began walking again. I've been a CNA/ CAREGIVER for 24 yrs. I love what I do. I have the desire to one day open my own adult day care.
