My grandparents, as well as my great-grandparents, made a very strong impression on me. I enjoyed spending time with all of them in the summer. Goodness, kindness, and unconditional love from my sweet relatives taught me to be loving, caring, and considerate of my elders. After doing volunteer work at nursing homes, I really felt this was my special 'calling'. Now, I enjoy each and every day, learning from the elderly people that are in my care. I became a caregiver because I had always wanted to be a nurse when I was younger. Also, my best friend/sister-in-law became very ill at an early age and I had wanted to take care of her but never got the chance as she passed away at age 44. My mom also became ill shortly thereafter and I promised that she would never go to a nursing home. My intention was to care for her in my home, but unfortunately she never made it home from the hospital. I vowed that if I could not help my own family then I would help someone else. I love being able to help people stay in their homes as long as possible and having the family reassured that their loved ones are being cared for in their absence. My personal achievements that I am proud of are being with two of my clients until the end of their life and knowing that I made things a bit easier for their families. As for myself, I am the mother of four sons and grew up with five older brothers.

Hi my name is Cheyenne Wood. I've been a caregiver since 2019 and acquired my CNA license in June 2019. I am a 22 year old, female and love being a caregiver there's so much that I have learned and carry with me daily from this job. Compassion, honesty, and reliability are three things I always provide to my client and their families. Knowing that I can help your loved one remain at home and independent makes this job more than a job.

Ive been a caregiver for about 10 years. 5 years certified. When I got started in this field it was out of necessity. My grandmother had a stroke and i had no choice. I didn't even want to be a caregiver. After about a year my grandmother passed away. But the feeling that i got from being able to care for her like she cared for me was indescribable. First time I felt i had contributed something; actually helped somebody. Like I made a difference, like i made her last days better. 10 years later I cant picture myself doing anything else. I love what I do. And everytime I help a client or they smile and say thank you its like helping my grandmother all over again.

I became a caregiver completely by accident because a lady I knew needed someone to care for her Mom and I was available. I realized that I was very good at it. I love helping people that cannot help themselves. I helped a lady that had PSP, a form of Parkinsons, that was the first time that I had fed, clothed, bathed and changed underwear on an adult. Helping her was so absolutely rewarding. I made her's and her daughter's life a lot easier. I am a CNA, 57 years of age, 2 adult daughters, 2 grandchildren. I am a non-smoker, very compassionate, caring and intelligent. I love to read, sew, do crafts and watch football.

What makes me a good caregiver, I strive for the best. I have a passion for helping others. I love to be the best impact on someone's life for a outcome of a change or certain situation. My attraction to being a caregiver is making the elder smile, because there live has change so much and people tend to forget about them. I want to be the change to make them feel alive again and help them to remember that some one cares. I enjoy the gatherings with the elders or residents and having activities with them or if they are having a bad day helping them get back to how they once was even if it takes many times to do that, it shows them a positive outlook and keeps them from falling into depression. My best achievement is everyday I get to work and become apart of there every day life's and I get to be apart of the good and the bad to help them through, even with rehabilitation I get to be involved in there cares and to see them from being in pain to leaving to go home happy and even though they don't get to choose who cares for them they leave happy knowing and grateful that It was me that they came across to walk along there journey.

I am a great caregiver because I love caring for the elderly, helping them with the day to day things that they want to do. I am honest, reliable and love helping other people. I became a caregiver by accident, I was asked to take an elderly woman to the store once a week and it turned into 3 days a week and it lasted 8 1/2 years. It was the most fulfilling job I have ever had.

I LOVE being a caregiver,I've always said this is my calling from God, I am very good at my job because I enjoy every moment. I love meeting family's and clients and learning there care needs and wants.
