I love helping and taking care of people. I am a dependable, caring and responsible person. My focus is not only on a clients physical needs, but their emotional needs as well. I remember as a child, watching a group of nurses march across the walkway at a hospital. They were so dignified in their white uniforms. After learning about their mission, I knew this was the job for me. So at 53 years old, I went back to school and received my LPN diploma and 1 month later my LPN license.

Why am I a caregiver? Because I love people and I want to help people to meet their daily physical needs when they are not able to do so on their own. What I like about being a Caregiver is being able to give them the feeling that they are still people, they are still somebody and I want them to know that I care, I also want them to be able to talk to me about anything. My personal achievement that I am proud of is when my brother was ill and I had to become his caregiver. I would not change that moment for nothing in the world. I still had a full time job but I still came home after long hours of work to take care of him and relief my sister after she has been there with him all day. As I was his caregiver I watch him go from worst to better, not only by caring for him but by loving and making sure he get what he needed so as bath, meals, medicine, making calls to the hospice service when there was a certain need that I was not able to meet.
