I starting working as a caregiver 7 years ago, when my mother got ill. At that time I was a deer in headlights. Since then, I decided to pay it forward, and ease the pain other families were going through. I've become close with the families that trusted me to care for their parents. Being able to grant people their wishes to live in their own home (instead of a nursing home) brings me great joy, and satisfaction. References available upon request.

As a dedicated caregiver to elderly residents of assisted living and memory care communities, I am an excellent match to the caregiver opening positions, Since 2012 I have worked as a caregiver where I assist residents with dementia and Alzheimer's disease with daily living needs, which include providing services to aid in memory care, physical care and psycho-emotional care optimizing residents' quality of life. Deeply committed to treating my elderly clients with dignity and respect, my goal is to win their trust and alleviate any embarrassment or anxiety they may feel when needing assistance with bathing, toileting, grooming or other personal care. I also excel at planning creative activities customized to resident needs and physical/mental abilities. Examples include pet visits from a nearby animal shelter, game nights, outdoor concerts, card tournaments, art and yoga classes, spa days and makeover sessions. It can be challenging at times, but I truly enjoy working with elderly residents. Though I strive to make a meaningful difference in the lives of the residents, the ongoing lessons I have learned from them have in return made a lasting impact in my life.
I'm a very happy loving , compassionate and outgoing person , love to help ppl especially the elderly, I'm a mother of 7 four biological and 3 adopted. I also have my mother who is 80 yrs old which I love spending time and helping her out in her daily activities. I have enjoyed being a caregiver because i can't think of another job that can be so rewarding. It's a beautiful feeling knowing that you can make a difference every day in a person life .
I believe I was born to be a caregiver. I was blessed in 1985 with a beautiful daughter with CP. (She passed in 2006) This gave me an insight into how hard it is to find a person who is in this profession for the right reasons. The two key words for me with any client are dignity and respect. I remember at all times that this is a human being who is loved and has loved. If dementia has changed their personality as it always does, I always remember that any behaviors are not the person but the disease. I have always been told that I have an inordinate amount of patience and I think that is true. I also respect the fact that the family has their own wishes and expectations and am very careful about not over stepping those boundaries.
