I am an outgoing individual who likes to talk and share interests with my clients. I am currently enrolled in a speech and language graduate program through St. Ambrose university. This has given me knowledge on swallowing disorders, dementia, language disabilities, working with verbal and nonverbal clients and families, as well as person centered care. I am willing to learn and adjust my points of view to always accommodate client. I want to make sure I am bringing my best self into a clients home where they can feel comfortable and well taken care of. I have worked in a group home where I have taken care of those with nonverbal needs, mobility issues, and swallowing disorders. While there I provided the basic needs such as toiling, bathing, cleaning and cooking. I have first hand experience taking care of others and making sure to respect their boundaries and needs. I have many interests and am willing to learn what my client likes and doesn't like so they can enjoy their time with me. I love being active and staying engaged with my clients and families. I want to provide the best care possible for each individual all the while making sure they feel independent, and useful.

I am attentive compassionate, able to multi task and attend to the needs of the individual in a timely manner. I am trustworthy and very empathic. What I love most about being a caregiver is seeing the smile on the patient's face when they know their in good hands. I became a caregiver because I enjoy the one-on-one interaction and making a difference in the patients life no matter how big or small.

I am cna certified and also am cpr certified. I have been working in the health field since 15 starting as a dietary aide then going on to laundry and housekeeping . Then was put through classes for cna I have been certified for 14 years as a aide and I absolutely love meeting new people helping others and connecting with people as friends not just a caregiver as well . I do not have a drivers license but that absolutely does not stop me from being responsible and dependable when I say I will be or am suppose to be somewhere I will be there most times even earlier then said . I am still able to always grab a few things needed from the grocery store or Walmart as I myself always am needing things. So please don't count me out on the fact that I don't have a license I am still a very dependable and loving caring person who can still do the tasks asked with out one. A little about my family I am a mother of two a daughter who is a senior this year and a son who is in 4th grade my son has autism and adhd so I am also experienced in that and I am also expecting one on the way due in February. Things that attract me about being a caregiver is taking care of elderly people because of their sense of humor, their knowledge, and hearing about stories in their past! Ever since I was little girl I've cared for elderly people by staying overnights with my grandma and helping her around the house, I've also worked in nursing homes doing dietary.
