What makes me a good home care aide is my dedication to what I do. I give my best to serve / help my client in any way I can. I became a home care aide because I want to work with and help seniors. I believe that taking care of them is like taking care of my own mother. Aside from having the chance to serve / help seniors, what I like about being a home care aide is its flexible work schedule. Seeing my client satisfied and happy with what I do for him / her is a personal achievement I am proud of.
My name is Ashley Wiebe. I am 29 years old and a wife and mother of 4 beautiful children. In my free time I like to sit down and read a good book. What makes me a great caregiver is that I believe the client is #1. Their needs are my job and it is my job to make sure he/she is happy and comfortable. I am loyal, reliable, patient, dependable, on-time, caring, observant, and a great listener. I was a nanny for 15 years so I have always had a passion to take care of someone if that was a child or adult. What really got me interested in becoming a caregiver was after my grandmother passed away and I helped take care of her while battling Alzheimer's. It was eye opening for me and I wanted to learn who to become better at caregiving. I really enjoy most from my job is the relationship that builds between me and a client. Having fun and bringing joy to their day and mine.

Alittle about me: I love people! Currently, I work and live with teens in a home setting. Most of my work history is with elderly or with adults with disabilities. My greatest quality that helps me be an amazing caregiver is my patience and my love for elderly people. God has gifted me with a talent of taking care of those in need. My main reason to become a Social Work was to help people in need. My next chapter in my life is to get my Masters in Social Work with specializing in geriatric's and childcare. Both these areas of study are my passion, and love which I am equally invested. My most favorite memory of caregiving was taking care of my own mom while she walked through cancer and treatment until she passed away. That experience has taught me their are so many stories just like my mom's but walk through it alone. I am very confident that you will be blessed to choose me to take care of your young or elderly. I am here so someone like my mom, doesn't have to walk alone.
I am very dependable, reliable, trustworthy, caring, passionate, and love helping others. I have been a caregiver for most of my life. I was the main caregiver for my step dad when he was alive. He had MS and had a stroke. I also assist with taking care of my grandmother who has Parkinson's and dementia. I love the fact that I make clients smile when I walk into the room. I also have experience with working with mental and disabled children/adults. I love being able to make sure that the clients I care for have the best quality of life!
I love to assist people who need personal care because i use to care for my grandma and this really motivated me to be in this field, and made me understand the needs of others. I enjoy being a caregiver because when my clients are happy it put a smile on my face and challenges me to do more.

I became a caregiver for a few reasons but its two reasons that stand out above all. The first of the reasons was to gain some experience in the medical field because my career goal was and is to be a registered nurse. The experience you gather being a caregiver is valuable, immeasurable, and translates to other job that involves caregiving. The second reason is because I really enjoy caring for people. There is no greater pleasure you can receive than the joy of helping someone in need. I am glad to say I have completed my Associates RN degree program. I am not a licensed nurse at this point but that is the next step in the plan. I am a very hardworking honest and loyal person. I consider my personality a great asset because one of the best non-pharmacological medicines is laughter. I like to lighten the mood and am very easy to get along with and work along side.
