I always wondered what my calling was in life, and sometimes still do... However when I hear the small, yet courageous, voices of the people I take care of as sick or as exhausted as they are, tell me that I've made their day, or I'm the most caring person, or that they love me, or even when they pray for me, I know over and over again that this is what I'm suppose to do-help people... 29 year old, mother of 5! I'm energetic, very organized, and I pay very close attention to details. I learn routines quickly, I listen to what I am told, and at times I am a bit of a perfectionist. I don't mind cleaning at all, I believe in keeping a clean and healthy environment for myself and my patients. I am very confident that your loved one will grow to love and care for me like one of their own, because that is the same way I care for them! Open to pets, religious beliefs, music, meditation, exercise etc!
I am seeking a position in the home care giving industry to provide quality service to the senior and disabled population. Provide these individuals with compassion, patience, respect and understanding to their special needs, while demonstrating my ability to promote a positive image of myself as a person who adores the elderly and disabled.
I have been a nurse for almost 20 years. I became a nurse because I enjoy helping others. I have always had a special place in my heart for the elderly and throughout the years I've always seemed to gravitate in that direction. I've worked in skilled care doing IV therapy, wound care, and g tube feedings along with many other skilled duties to include administration of chemotherapy and IV pain medication. I also have a special place in my heart for disabled children and adults. I have an adult son with Angelman syndrome who now resides in a group home setting. I'm now wanting to branch out on my own. I want to give care to individuals on a 1 on 1 basis. I've also had experience doing palliative care as I once worked as a palliative care nurse.
