I was a Librarian back in the Philippines but when I came to the US in 2006, my friend encouraged me to try working with the elderly as a caregiver. Since then, I have been working as a caregiver and I developed the love and passion in taking care of the elderly. I had experienced.taking care.of elderly with different health issues such as Alzheimers, Dementia, diabetis, heart diseases (ie. CHF), Lung or respiratory disease, Stroke, non-ambulatory, bed bound elderly, etc. I assist them with their activities of daily living, prepare meals, laundry, do light housekeeping, medication reminder, assist with their errands and there were some elderly who asked me to organize their bills, do grocery and run other errands for them. I was not only a caregiver.but also a personal assistant. I am proud of being a caregiver because I know I make a difference in the lives of the elderly and I become part of the last journey of their lives.

What makes me a care giver is the good care I render to people who needs care, the empathy, compassion, patience, reliability and trustworthiness. Giving care is my passion I love. Seeing people that needs help attracted me to being a great care giver... The smile I get from the people I render care to attracts me to offer more help bacause I love seeing people happy and satisfied. One of my greatest achievements is restoring my patients back to their happy and normal stage.
I started my journey as a home care aide, with experience I worked my way into a nurse delegated CNA position. I love every minute of it. I enjoy building a relationship with the people I work with, my main priority is to provide quality compassionate care. I think what makes me a great caregiver is my attentiveness to my clients, I listen to my clients, I'm there for my clients, my clients needs and changes are my concern. When it comes to the health and well being of my clients, I want to make sure that they are doing well, emotionally and physically.
What do I enjoy most about being a caregiver? I enjoy the interaction, i get to be in the presence of so many wonderful people who have stories to tell. It might sound cliche but I genuinely love knowing that i can help another person in this world, so that is exactly what i do.
